Just wow! This hotel is an absolute gem in the heart of Franschoek. The rooms are incredible, the lobby and rooftop are gorgeous. 5 minute walk to anywhere in town which is super convenient a super nice to walk around. Close to the wine train and wineries. The staff were a highlight here though. Franklin, the Manager is constantly available and will do anything to make guests happy. My wife and I were made to feel so special by all the staff and they definitely went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. Thank you!

Franklin and the team were amazing! Nothing short of a five star experience! If we were to come back to Franschhoek this is the only place we would stay. Can’t thank Franklin and the team enough - just a beautiful experience. Glenn and Therese

Unfortunately we only had only one night to stay in Franschhoek, a truly beautiful place. Fortunately, we stayed at the the Last Word. The staff was super friendly and very service minded. They all did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The place is lovely. The room was large and very comfortable, with impeccable design. After coming back from a delicious dinner we enjoyed sitting by the fire and sharing libations with other guests. It was like being in a warm living room. The breakfast provided the next morning was sumptuous. Highly recommended.

OMG.........just fantastic. We stayed here as a family of three adults for two nights and wish it was longer. We were on a three week road trip of SA and this was the perfect tonic for us. The staff made us feel so welcome - to the point that you thought you were a guest in their home, not a hotel. So cosy with a log fire in the lounge area, which came with an honesty bar. We sat there one evening after being out for dinner, we were so relaxed that I forgot that I was in a hotel; a real home from home. The rooms are fabulous, breakfast fantastic, staff amazing. Some really nice little touches, with it being winter, we came back the first night to our bedrooms to find a flask of hot chocolate and a creme brûlée as part of the turndown service! And then, a hot water bottle in our beds to take the chill off (it wasn't cold as there is heating!!). Just fantastic!

Really very smart hotel with outstanding service. Very welcoming with friendly staff. Large smart rooms with very comfortable bed. Nice touches, like hot chocolate in your room at night left after the bed is turned down. Lovely breakfast. Hotel is right in the centre of Franschhoek with large choice of restaurants on the doorstep. Had a fabulous time here

I spent a night with my family in last word ,but we paid for 2; We reserved 2 nights but since from the beginning we had problems : The teapot was dirty of old milk and nobody wash it,the room was full of dust ,I’m allergic at the dust ,and I requested for a deep cleaning,my wife had a hot bath, after it I have wait for 30 minutes and my shower was quite cold so I had the shower cold with 6 degrees outside,my kids didn’t have it ,one window was broken at the angle so it couldn’t close it very well and the room was very very cold, but the air condition didn’t work very well ,during the night was very noisy with bad smell ,and we spent a night in the cold. So in the morning we decided to leave one night earlier ,but I have paid for 2 ,so I asked with the mail the refound of the second night . I have sent many many email but nobody has answered so the have kept my money This is no acceptable and now I will evaluate what I have to do Only positive note Franklin at the desk

An absolutely memorable stay at Last Word. The accommodation is luxurious and the staff are unbelievably helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was more than enough and extremely tasty. I would highly recommend a visit to this gorgeous hidden gem. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to arrive, park and walk around picturesque Franschoek.

My husband and I were part of a group of 8 friends who stayed at The Last Word. It was my husband's and my second stay there. It is a luxurious boutique hotel in a very central location in Franschhoek, yet it is very quiet. Almost everything is within walking distance. The rooms are large and luxurious. Some have heated bathroom floors. Our room was a little smaller than our friends' rooms, but we had our own outdoor seating area. The hotel also has a large common area upon entering the hotel, and an honor bar with a wide variety of wine, beer, spirits and juice and water, for those who want to be a little healthier! There are also areas to sunbathe, sit with friends and chat with other guests on their second level. My husband and I woke up too late to enjoy breakfast each day, but our friends all commented on how good it was. With your room comes access to a well-equipped gym a two minute walk away, so I took full advantage of that one day to try and burn off 500 of the 1 million calories I had previously consumed on the trip! The manager we primarily interacted with during our stay was Franklin, and I dare anyone to find a kinder and more gentle man. Our entire group loved him. Conrad came on shift in the afternoon of our last day there, and we wish we had stayed longer to get to him him better as well. I would highly recommend anyone staying in Franschhoek to stay at The Last Word!
