A quaint guest house in the heart of the town. Very picturesque with spacious rooms, the host Carlos was very informative and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Highly recommend a stay here if you are visiting the area. Would have given a 5 but the servicing of the rooms was a bit sporadic, we had 3 rooms and not all received the same attention.

What a wonderful guest house! A secret place for special trips. Looked after by Karloff and his team - totally spoilt and received so much care and attention. Rooms are stunning and all individually decorated. Beds are to die for!! Our room had a wood burner plus underfloor heating… poor luxury. Team were so knowledgeable of the local area and gave us so many ideas of places to visit/ restaurants/ wine farms. We will be back! A beautiful lounge/ bar area to socially with other guests and to taste local wines and gins. Best breakfasts too!

Everything here is first class. You are made to feel welcome and at home. Comfortable rooms with authentic decor. One of the best places we have stayed at. Breakfast is amazing with huge variety and all good quality. Comfy huge bed. Shower and bath. Staff are superb. Location is great as it's within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the wine tram.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Avondrood. We were warmly welcomed, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and full of charm perfectly suited to the spirit of Franschhoek. We particularly appreciated the central location, which allowed us to explore many of the surrounding attractions with ease. Breakfast was excellent, and the pool area was a lovely spot to relax. We highly recommend it — 100%!

A fantastic place to stay in Franschhoek. The staff were all incredibly helpful, and went out of their way with recommendations, including places to eat, things to do, and even the route to our next stop. The setting is perfect, within five minutes of the town centre and the wine tram. The accommodation is set around a lovely quiet private garden, and very generous breakfast.. The perfect place to stay in the wine region.

If you visit the lovely Franschoek and do not stay in the amazing Avondrood Guest House you will be missing out. Put quite simply Karloff & team are the best hosts you will ever meet. They really made us feel at home in what is an absolutely lovely property. We loved our room. It was spacious & very well appointed. The bed was oh so comfortable. The bathroom was big & had a luxury feel with a separate shower & roll top bath, All spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were the tastiest we have had on our trip, Loads of fruit, Baked goods & of course a hot breakfast of your choice. The weather was good enough for us to eat Alfresco this morning & it was Perfect. Karloff you are a star, You clearly love Franschoek & gave us a great recommendation for dinner. Thank you so much. We stayed at the guesthouse for only 2 nights on our way through the garden route and we did not want to leave! This place is pure luxury! We stayed in the Garden room. A beautiful large room with an equally large bathroom and a gorgeous little private garden to enjoy. The breakfast is amazing, so much choice and the freshest tastiest options on offer. The warm welcome and hospitality we received from Karloff and the team was what really stood out for us! Franschoek is a beautiful little town with fantastic restaurants and surrounded by beautiful scenery and vineyards, I think this has to be our favourite place so far!!

Travelled with another couple. We were made to feel welcome the second we walked through the door. Good introduction to the area by Karloff. Lovely room and breakfast, with perfectly cooked eggs. Good restaurant recommendation for sunset. Perfect start to a fantastic holiday. Thank you!

An amazing stay! The guest house sits just on the edge of Franschhoek village - 2 minutes walk away from the tram and about minute into the main town square. We were very warmly welcomed by Carloth who gave us a lot of detailed information and made us feel right at home. The entire guest house feels like a home away from home and I felt the staff could not have done anymore to make us feel comfortable.
