I'm surprised there have been no reviews posted here in the last two years. One does not expect too much from a 3-star hotel, but Comfort Inn & Suites Somerset - New Brunswick surpassed my expectations in three ways: 1) In this day and age, recharging one's USB devices is a must. They provide USB sockets (didn't realise that the power adaptors I'd brought from my Asian country won't fit in USA wall sockets). 2) My mattress was super soft. This may not please everyone if you want something more firm. For me, it was paradise. 3) I always expect a continental breakfast. But there was scrambled eggs and sausages! And, whatever ran out was quickly replenished. Of the five hotel/motels I stayed at during my two weeks, this place ranks #1 which meant, being the first place I stayed at, every other place afterwards paled in comparison. The only damper was that Choice Hotels does not allow Asians (except Singaporeans) to join its rewards program.

The room was clean. The staff were very nice. Quiet. Will go back if in area. Housekeeping was very fast when I asked for clean towels. Deposit was immediately put back in my bank account. Great deal for the price.

Overall this hotel isn’t terrible. Hotel is old and out of date. Could use a refresh. Everything was adequate but could be better. The mattress on the sofa bed was terrible so we had to go out and purchase an air bed for a family member. Breakfast was typical but okay. The staff were grit and courteous, however, I probably won’t choose this hotel next time.

It’s a little run down and our television didn’t work. They said they would send someone to look at it but no one ever showed. There are plenty of other hotel choices nearby. Marriott is across the street.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and I killed one or two cockroaches in the bathroom in the middle of each night. Gross. We were so afraid we'd inadvertently bring a few home in our suitcases but thankfully, that did not happen! Judging by the reaction to this by the front desk upon checking out, they've either heard this complaint before or simply didn't care. Didn't even receive an apology. Nothing particularly outstanding about it this hotel that would make us overlook the roaches (the bathroom could use a makeover for sure) and stay again. We'll be looking elsewhere the next time we are in the area visiting friends and family.

While the staff here was very nice, our room was not. Water damage, stained furniture, mold on walls, peeling ceilings…smelled musty. I would not recommend this hotel and can’t believe it has 4 stars. Lobby looked fine though.

This place was great for the price. Although the website states carry out breakfast they did not have it. All they had was a hooters. And we had to go get more towels because apparently the common thing is to only have 2 towels in a room now, no matter how many people are in it. Every choice hotel we have been to on this trip it has been that way and over half the time they say they don't have any more towels. So frustrating.
