Hotel definitely did not match the online pictures. Hotel is dirty, dingy, worn and outdated. Here's the things that were wrong the one night my husband and I stayed there while traveling through: Bed was not on the base so basically fell apart the moment one of us sat on it, the other bed had stained sheets, 2 small bath towels not big enough to dry off with, no hand towels, no wash cloths. No hairdryer (front desk did not have one to loan). adjoining door was not locked when we arrived. There was a 2" open gap at the bottom of the door. Kids in next room screaming and running around well past midnight as well as other ones running up and down the halls screaming and loud. No elevator, booked on second floor so lugged suitcase up steps. Very sketchy place.

Stayed here for a visit in the Rutgers area. Room itself was clean enough, and the price was right. However, despite the rooms being allegedly nonsmoking, there was a pervasive cigarette smoke odor. IDK if that was due to guests actually smoking in their rooms, or smoke coming in from outside.

The absolute worst. My friends and I are on a trip and one went to check in. Immediately, when he went to go check in, there was a concerning smell in the lobby along with cigarette smoke and ****. Very intense smell. And He was charged a $50 check in fee?? We were never told about this. As the rest of us went to park we saw a little girl running around as it’s 11:30 at night and groups of people just standing and sitting outside smoking with the side hotel door wide open. We parked and went to go in through the back door having us go past all bottom floor rooms. The hallways alone were just filthy. They had marker drawn on the walls and many dings and scratches within the doors, floors, walls, everything. As we went to the room we found dead COCKROACHES on the box spring and ALIVE ones as well. The room was filthy and reeked. And we decided to leave. This place needs to be shut down immediately. Very gross and unlivable.

I booked our reservation through a third party app and when my fiancé and I went to check in, they couldn't find our reservation. It took more than an hour to us to get a room. I have asthma and my fiancé is allergic to smoke. He smelled cigarettes immediately. He asked the front desk if the hotel was smoking ir non smoking and we were told on smoking but the smell was evident. When we finally got a room, the room was hot and the temp could not be adjusted, the bed sheets weren't clean and there was hair in the bed. The overhead light didn't work and there were bags of trash outside of multiple guests rooms. In addition to the check in disaster, I was charged an additional $50 hold because I used a debit card but was not told of this in check in, nor was there any signage indicating this.

The situation at the Somerset lofts was unacceptable. The room was FILTHY and super dinged up. The rug was absolutely disgusting and there was gum stuck to it in one spot. The room reeked of old cigarette smoke and there were burns on the furniture. Hardly any of the light switches worked. Shower knob was falling off the wall. There was long hair all over the room. All the handles and railings were sticky. There was a stairway leading upstairs to where the bed was and a few of the stairs up were “soft” and felt squishy under the rug like they were rotted out. The worst part was that a huge party was happening across the hall from me. It sounded like up to 10 rooms were involved. Rowdiness, banging doors and screaming. I checked in at 8, and by 10 it was out of control. **** smell everywhere. I called the front desk but they acted like they didnt know about it. Its a small 2 floor motel with no elevator. There’s NO WAY they didnt know what was happening. Also, I’m pretty sure this hotel has people living in it full time. It was too much and I ended up having to check out and go to another hotel. I was on a work trip and need to get some sleep. Worst hotel experience ever. This place should just get bulldozed.

Pics do lie and the negative reviews here are legit. Corridors welcome you woth a strong stench of ****, there is literally NO ONE at the front desk..day or night..we asked for a blanket for our other queen bed (twice, which felt like beginning), which didn't have a blanket to begin with. forget trying to upgrade to a larger room as all reservations are "final". You want room service? Tip: pay the housekeeping lady on the side and get your wish or you're not getting any. This trip has taught me to never cheap out on hotels when traveling with family. Word to the wise i guess.

This is easily the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is so rude, the rooms are dirty, not to mention they want to charge a $300 deposit fee? I’ve stayed in way nicer hotels than this and the most I’ve ever been charged is $50!? Also, we didn’t even get put in the room that we paid for!!! Our shower was broken , so after being in the city all night we couldn’t even shower when we got back. When I called about it after leaving (which I mentioned it at check out) the person working wants to say “Oh well, not my problem. So what you couldn’t shower.” Seriously!???? Then she hung up on me by saying “Bye b*itch”. This was just a horrible experience. I’d give it zero stars if I could. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Should have realized the room was 2 levels based on the name of the hotel! Sleeping area is on upper level in a loft! 1st floor had kitchenette with under the counter mini fridge + full size fridge. Odd. 2 flights of stairs up to sleeping area, difficult to carry luggage up. No elevators in the building so again, be ready for that. Room was clean but because of layout, I did not feel comfortable..a bit noisy overnight, lots of doors slamming.
