Wonderful and friendly place to stay. Loved my breakfast every morning with Nikki and Jennifer they were so helpful. Great service in Restaurant with Dan paying attention to our every need. Comfy bed and spotlessly clean. Great spa and friendly staff every where.

The hotel is of an excellent high standard with regards to decor, food and staff. However, I would not recommend it for couples or singletons who are wanting luxury and peace. Whilst we can accept that family is the ethos of the hotel and you wholeheartedly embrace and accept children in all areas this does not mean than children should be able to ruin others experience and parents be allowed the slack off being ‘parents’. Children running around the dinning hall, pool areas, bar, up and down stairs. With no basic standards or rules to uphold it was often an unpleasant experience, with lack of respect for other paying guests. Parents not being held to account for actions of their children. There were also inconsistencies with regards to the adult dinning area, as young children were often seated there making the website claims redundant. On the other side, if I was visiting with my husband and children it would be fabulous family hotel. However if my husband and I fancied a quiet few hours whilst the children were in the den - we would be faced by other peoples noisy children either in the spa pool or terrace. Having no adult only area not only hinders couples but for those parent who require the peace and quiet whilst their own children are in paid care. Unfortunately due to this we would not be returning, and would strongly consider whether we would visit as a family if that meant no quiet moments for us as parents. Overall if these minor changes were made; adult only area (just one!), spa pool time for adults, and upholding the adult dinning area consistently. This would be a fabulous experience for all!

We have visited Fowey Hall for dinner on many occasions over the last 12 years. Sadly tonight's will be our last. We booked the restaurant for our wedding anniversary as we do most years. On arrival we were shown to what I can only describe as a children's dining area, the floor of which was littered with food and mess from previous little diners. I asked the person who had shown us to the table why we could not sit in the main restaurant, as we normally do, he said it was fully booked. I said we had booked a few months ago, so why were we not able to sit there. He advised that you couldn't chose where to sit. I said, we have never been seated in the children's area before. Eventually, he said we could have a table as long as we vacated by 7.30pm. At 7.30pm we had to ask for the bill and at that point most of the tables were still empty. Our evening was completely spoiled by the way we were treated. It seems that Fowey Hall is no longer what it used to be.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. We stayed here around 7 years ago before it was done up and loved it then, but it’s now a new standard. Such a beautiful setting. Everyone we came across was so friendly, and the children are actively included rather than tolerated. Nothing was too much for the staff, from extra fresh milk in the room, to helping my daughter find fairy houses, to providing fishing nets. Special mention to the manager at breakfast who did a really excellent job. The addition of the outdoor pool is excellent and it’s well designed. Lovely new play things for the children and a great fun new games room. We loved the indoor pool too, such a bonus. The food was excellent, and they thoughtfully put a movie on in the ‘cinema’ with popcorn so that the adults can eat their dinner later in peace. Our room was in the new section above the spa-really nicely appointed and especially the bathroom. Also excellent sound proofing as we didn’t hear any other families despite the hotel being full. Highly recommend. Definitely family oriented-not for adults without children during the school holidays.

looked good on internet but that lies doesnt it ?? cheap substandard food IE the fatty bacon and eggs with no taste , after sampling we stuck to cereals, evening food is mediocre PUB GRUB & not good enough for a hotel. grubby and dirty in places = kids handmarks on windows and walls, CLEANING REALLY NEEDS LOOKING AT ! at times this place is like a kindergarten with screaming kids & cannines thrown in for good measure, & it wasnt the dogs that bothered us !! the owners have cheapened the hotel & maybe to keep the place afloat but it doesnt work. ive stayed in much better for the same money . if you are a couple & want a quiet top notch break AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !! from what ive seen the manager really needs to up their game . & to the manager if you reply to this REMEMBER IT WAS MY MONEY IVE JUST WASTED !! alex the hotel inspector would have a field day here !!!!

We stayed with our 4 year old for 4 nights and had an amazing time. Everything was super family friendly and geared towards the kids, and there was everything you needed for a hotel stay with a child. Our daughter loved the den, play area, rabbits, stories and all the staff were great with her. All of the staff were amazing, and the service was excellent. Really helpful, friendly, and helped however they could. The restaurant was quite good, and also very kid friendly. Here the only complaint would be more options at breakfast, but it was still very good. The indoor pool was closed, so we only used the outdoor pool. It was supposedly heated but honestly didn’t feel like that, I couldn’t even get in and my daughter and husband couldn’t be in longer that 5 minutes (on a sunny day). Our only complaint was with housekeeping. Our floor wasn’t swept once during our stay. There were feathers and crumbs on the floor, so it was easy to see it hadn’t been cleaned. They also missed dirty glasses one day, and the beds weren’t made very well. The furniture was also stained, which is something easy to fix. I feel for such an amazing hotel the cleaning should be at a higher level. I would still recommend this hotel though despite the poor cleaning, we were otherwise very impressed.

Wife booked first a few days to allow us to revisit Fowey first the first time in 30 years! Back then this was a hikers stop and in the dim past a house belonging to the Lord mayor of London! More recently it has been fully refurbished And turned into a luxury family hotel. Lovely location overlooking the estuary, helpful staff and nice rooms and pool. Remember this us a family hotel, so a ficus on kids, rabbit petting and other entertainments! Nice outdoor pool, apparently also have an indoor one. Plenty if tables snd chairs, but sadly no sun loungers. Service at reception good, restaurant a tad slow snd a bit expensive for what was delivered, parking can be a struggle, have 4 EV points and at times they were full of standard cars!
