Best Western Hotel des Voyageurs

I will start with the caveat that “ it was during a heatwave” We had room 301 at the very top of the hotel. Not a problem as there was a lift. We had arranged for pay to park which again wasn’t a problem because we arrived on a motorcycle. If we’d been in a car that may have posed a problem because one car was parked so badly it was taking up part of our allocated space. The receptionist was polite and informative and gave directions to the garage. Breakfast, good selection of continental ingredients and plenty of it. Negatives. We had traveled on a motorcycle in 34degree heat for six hours so you can image just how hot we were. Things couldn’t have got hotter you would have thought, Then, we opened the door to our room and the wall of heat that hit us made us both vocalise “ f..k me that’s hot” The windows were shut but the curtains had been left open making the room into a sealed green house. The room had a fan in it. Solution! Open the windows and shut the curtains in the bedroom. Keep the bathroom door shut because the curtains in there are next to useless to keep the sun out. Put the chair from the desk as close to the bed as the lead from the fan will reach. Put the bin from the bathroom on the chair and balance the fan in it. That way you get the benefit of the fan because if you leave it on the desk it’s rubbish.

Conveniently located, on road intersection - not an issue for me. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room, although compact, had everything I needed for my overnight stay. Super clean with comfortable bed and good linens.
