The Constance Fortitude Valley

Location is ok, surrounded by car dealerships with one still in construction right in front. A gentle walk distance to James street precinct. Roof top bar is loud and happening if you like it till 3am, and cleaning up with emptying glass bottles till 4am. Housekeeping was clean n tidy on the first day, getting less detail and less done day after day, no coffee/milk refills, glasses not wash, bed was made but pillows was still in their overnight states, time must be running short. Bathroom does look tired and signs of wear.

When I first got to the room it smelled so strongly of bleach I ended up feeling woozy and asked to get some airflow, they went back and forth and eventually moved me to a different room with a window because it smelled like sewage drains instead of bleach, there were stains on the curtains, makeup fingerprints on the walls and some liquid splatters of who knows what. I cancelled my second night and after a lot of difficulty and not a lot of help from reception I managed to go through trip to get a partial refund. Great location, but I bet you the people that reviewed and rated this place as ‘clean’ also slept on the floor on a mattress without bedsheets all of their 20’s LOL

perfect location close to everything great bar downstairs so lovely at the hotel. The room is great very affordable.

This accommodation was in a spectacularly convenient location for a GIG that I was attending this week. The Team on-site were incredibly helpful. I had a small issue when I got there with the fridge not working and it had tripped the breaker; the maintenance guy came and sorted it out and then replaced the mini fridge thing for me as well. All within 30 minutes. Amazing. He also offered tips to assist with making the most out of the aircon and the double-glazing which was also super helpful so I could get a good nights sleep afterward. The place was nice & clean and tidy with an exceptionally large sized bed. It was surprisingly quiet being right beside an active pub as well. Unless I was in the hallway, I couldn't hear a thing. I could hear my neighbours though...! Beautiful artwork through the building, and the hallways didn't smell awful either. They had cool little work nooks in the stairwells you could use if you wish and I think I saw some business suites on the 1st floor you could use for meetings. Not so amazing parts: There was clearly mould in some areas in bathroom areas.. they oddly have glass doors on the toilets?? that's strange. No ventilation in the bathroom to prevent the mould too. The air-conditioning was genuinely effective but it was clearly not well maintained as there was dust & mould forming around the vent and the roof section where the duct was, had starting bowing. Booking process via Trip.com - not great. The information provided by the website indicated they'd hold the amount of the booking but we had to pay the amount AT the hotel plus a deposit fee for incidentals...(on top of the amount they already took). That was actually not the case... I didn't have to give them anything at all except ID and verify my general details. When I got there, the nice man at reception told me I was all good to go and no extra fees or holds were required. All in all, a good stay. The place could use some extra love and attention to detail but for the price I paid? I'm not bothered.

The staff were friendly and helpful.  The rooms were exactly what I needed - a place to sleep.  Would book again.
