I hate to say it, but our experience at this Hampton Inn was VERY BAD. First, I need to let everyone know what “Pet Friendly” means. If you get a room next to a room with a barking dog, you are in for a long night. We had such a room. So, I asked the front desk to move us, but they said that would not be possible (that I should have realized that it was a pet friendly hotel). I complained and asked to speak to a manager, but they said I wasn’t allowed (even though the front desk had talked to a manager a few minutes earlier). I asked to cancel my reservation. They said my $200 was already spent. I then asked to check out, because I didn’t want to listen to a dog bark all night. They said I couldn’t even check out until the next day. Wow! So, we were stuck. Also, we had been previously assigned to a room that had NOT been serviced (the bed was not made and the bathroom was dirty). I almost wish we had kept that dirty room. The front desk got very hostile with me when I made the above requests. Not what I was expecting from a Hampton Inn. Definitely my last trip to Fort Payne.

Ok at best. I stayed at this hotel for June Jam so I can get over the exorbitant price per night. I assume it’s usually more economical. Having stayed here numerous times over the years it really hasn’t improved. The staff were very helpful and friendly so I was more generous with my rating. I wasn’t expecting a five star experience but at minimum a hotel room should be clean. The carpet had crumbs and plastic clothing tags that should have been vacuumed up, what’s worse is the sheets were dirty. Two queen beds, one with small red stains visible by eye and the other with a light yellow stain that lit up under black light. Recommendation to management. Invest in a black light and hold housekeeping accountable for doing a better job.

I was charged for a second room as a no show. I was unaware of the second reservation and was not told there was a second reservation when I checked in to the hotel. The manager first said it was problem with my credit card company then on subsequent calls said it was a no show and refused to make any adjustment for the billing. HIlton said they could not help it was up to the individual hotels.

The surfaces around the hotel are not clean…elevator, doorways etc There were little hairs on the sheets. Carpet has stains Overall just not clean. Definitely not worth what we paid. Lady from front desk was friendly tho.

Loved this hotel. Staff was great. Room was large and clean. Hotel was in a great location off the highway. It was fully booked due to the 127 yard sale (who knew?). Still, breakfast was fully stocked and there was ample seating for everyone. Gym was small, but was clean and had decent equipment.

BEWARE !!! NASTY/DIRTY ROOMS !!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY I had issues with this property and their room cleanliness. In fact, it was disgusting. (see photos). Apparently this property does not honor the Hampton Inn 100% satisfaction gaurantee. Trying to get this property to provide a full refund and honor their contract does NOT happen. After speaking with Hilton guest relations about the issues they refered the THEM to the property for a response. After having to prompt guest relations three times for a response, I finally received one from the property attempting to shift blame to me. This property appeared to contend that since I didn't report the nasty room conditions to them late at night that somehow they are not true. For the record, I was told at the front desk that this property was sold-out for the evening meaning that there was no way that they could reassign me to another room. I knew that it would be fruitless to even try and I was very tired being that it was late at night. It is not even close to being reasonable to ask a guest to perform a mold and mildew removal late at night. I would imagine that this property's room conditions might resemble a Motel 6 or Econolodge. Here is a list of the sub-standard room conditions at this property: 1. Mold on the bathroom wall. 2. Mold and rust on the bathroom sink faucet. 3. Mold and mildew on and along the tub and floor. 4. The bath floor was very nasty and appeared dilapidated. 5. Bath vent full of dirt, mold, and rust. 6. Tub was chipped up resembling a Motel 6 property. 7. No fixture in the room lamp. 8. Mattresses felt old and cheap and were NOT conducive to any rest at all. Having this property represent Hilton and Hampton Inn is a travesty. In all my travels to Hilton/Hampton Inn properties I have never seen one this bad. I wouldn't rely on the Hampton Inn 100% Satisfaction Gaurantee. For sure, this property does not choose to honor it. If you want a clean room and restful sleep I would look somewhere else before ever considering this one.

First impression of the hotel and staff upon arriving were very good. Check-in was quick and friendly. The room was really great. It justified the somewhat expensive cost. The beds were very comfortable and should insure a good night sleep for anyone. The breakfast was OK - just not great. One surprising feature is that we were given the option of a tub or walk-in shower in the room. Walk-in shower is so much easier and safer. Loved that choice.

Well, we ended up booking the room thru a third party. We weren’t aware of this until we arrived at the hotel. It wasn’t received very well by the front desk. We had to pay $75 for our dog who is therapy trained and does not shed. We’ve stayed at many Hampton Inns and only paid $25. We had no choice as we were staying in campers near by and bad weather was coming that njght so we wanted to be safe than sorry. We had to have our dog with us. The room could be a little cleaner. There were stains on the carpet and our friends found a washcloth by the side of the bed in their room. We were appreciative of the good nights sleep knowing we were safe!

Though the rooms are clean and nice, they advertise ev charging without showing online that it costs a lot to charge even as a guest. They told us on two separate occasions it was $20 to charge overnight, then charged $30 for the overnight charge. Not only do most hotels (including other Hilton family) not charge for guests, but for a slow charger that price is ridiculous. Go down the street to the fast charger and you'll pay less and be done quickly. Poor way to treat guests.
