Maritime Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruiseport

This place is a dump. We laughed so hard because it was so bad. And kept getting worse. Believe the negative comments abt the bathroom. Who thought zero privacy was a good idea for a bathroom? The walls in the room were painted…up to a point. They didn’t finish cutting in around things like the smoke alarm or get the paint all the way to the ceiling. It’s like someone got bored & said “meh, that’s good enough.” The headboard is angled out so you cannot sit up in bed comfortably. The furniture is 1970’s wood (scratched) & white plastic that you would have thrown out if you were around 50 years ago (I was). We didn’t read the reviews before we booked & were out of there first thing next morning. No coffee til 7am. But you can reserve an airport shuttle. Oh…and a washcloth was left hanging on the showerhead that the cleaners must have missed. This place…wow…just wow🤮.

Bundles of Retreat in Fort Lauderdale… After a nice memorial day weekend with friends and family I was looking for a night out of the crib to experience some local luxury.. then came the hotel with a decked out pool gym and unique chic style / aquatic like retreat

This hotel is basic that is good for those wanting to stay the night before flying out the next morning from the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood Airport. With the exception of the open-concept bathroom area, the room is perfect for an overnight stay. It feels a lot like a dorm room. It has a bed. A TV, and a desk with two chairs. But I will never stay at this hotel or any other from the Tribute-branded Marriott’s because of the extremely terrible and embarrassing to use open-concept GLASS bathroom, Whoever told hotel designers what people want in bathrooms are slightly opaque glass walls and peepshow shower stalls is greatly misinformed. NOBODY WANTS GLASS WALLS AROUND THE TOILET! You can absolutely see the shadow and soft colors of anyone using the toilet. An added bonus is glass works as an amplifier for sound. And the genius designers behind this specific bathroom used one glass sliding door that can be used for either the toilet OR the shower. So one is always exposed. The door doesn’t fully go to the ceiling or the floor so it has all the charm of a public restroom. Oh, that means not only can you be watched while you poop, listened to while you poop, but the partial doors means you can be smelled while you poop too. Yuck. Oh, did I mention the shower wall to the sleeping portion of the room is NOT opaque? It’s completely clear for all to see. Can you imagine sharing the room with anyone who is not a significant other? There must have been enough complaints because a pull-down shade was installed on the outside of the shower. But it can be opened by anyone not in the shower. And there are gaps in the sides with full view.

Due to a disaster in our building, my family was sent here to stay. The front desk hasn't a clue whats going on and are not hospitable at all!! No clock or phone in our room. There isn't a bar or food service as stated. Not alot of sun at the pool and its not as pictured. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Only upside was that housekeeping was amazing and rooms were clean.
