This is a small quaint place to stay. Very close to town. Easy drives to McDonald Observatory, Fort Davis Historic Site, Davis Mountain State Park, and Balmorhea State Park. Alpine and Marfa are in the 20 mile range to drive. Great 75 mile loop on Hwy 166 and 118 to enjoy the mountains starting right at the B&B. Only 6 rooms total. Very clean and well kept. There were a few things that could have been spruced up but overall cute! The host, Sid, is very friendly and helpful if needed. He and his wife live on site. Nicely decorated main room. We stayed in the king room. Large space. Bed was very comfortable. Great breakfast. Scrambled eggs, one day with cheese the other with spinach and green peppers, waffles, biscuits, yogurt, cereal, coffee, orange juice, milk. One day we had gravy with ground meat in it, the other link sausage. I would stay there again and recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Davis Mountain Inn. This is near Fort Davis, Texas in a beautiful part of West Texas. Our accommodations were wonderful and the host and hostess, Sid and Elena were very accommodating and wonderful. You can’t go wrong staying at this beautiful bed-and-breakfast in the mountains.

We loved our stay! The Inn is lovely. The highlight was our time spent relaxing on the back porch was watching the wildlife and enjoying the stars and sunsets. We saw a family of javelinas, some deer, jack rabbits, lots of birds, hummingbirds, and a few bats that came out every night. Sid and Elena, the on-site Inn Keepers were amazing. They were very friendly, helpful, and gave us some great tips. Above all, they made us feel welcome and were present yet gave us our privacy. And breakfast was yummy! We went to a Star Party at the McDonald Observatory and visited a lot of other places on the area including Alpine, Marfa, and Balmorhea State Park. All less than 30 minutes from the Inn.

I stayed there with four friends in early May and can recommend this place highly. Everything about the house was nice: the bedrooms, the common areas (including the kitchen), the back porch. We were in the area to do some birdwatching and they even had some pretty good birds! Sid runs the place - he is not the owner - and he was extremely helpful. There was a great variety of breakfast food. Everything was spotless. I'd give it six stars if I could. I rarely leave reviews but this place deserved one.

Loved our stay here at Davis Mountains Inn. The inn itself was quite lovely, and our room was perfect. Very clean. Sid, our host, went out of his way to see that we had everything we needed, and made us a great - and filling - breakfast every morning. Thank you, Sid!

Great condition. Breakfast real good. Friendly for sure. All was great. Cons would be that the town closes early and drugstore/restaurant is now closed. Our bed was too soft for old bodies. Would come back.
