Hampton Inn Ft. Chiswell-Max Meadows

Nice room and property was conveniently located. Parking was kinda small but well lit up at night.

Overall it is a good hotel for me and it looks like I will recommend it for our friends.

Definitely not up to Hilton standards. Should have known due to inexpensive room rate. Postitives-staff friendly, lobby and breakfast area clean. Delicious Cheesecake instead of cookies at check-in! Needs improvement- overall maintenance of hotel- key cards don’t open side door so rock put in to keep door open, 1st room-no fridge, 2nd room-ac unit screeching, 3rd room- okay. Lamps shades broken, carpet dirty, shower missing shelf. Here for 2 night stay -Went away for the day and came back to key cards not working. Said that happens when housekeeping comes in. Why? I didn’t ask for housekeeping on a two night stay. Door didn’t latch all the way so needed to pull shut to lock, forgot, and someone came in but left immediately realizing error. Needless to say we made sure to latch and lock for the nigh after that. beds sheets too small and kept rolling up, the maintenance to do is large. Needs major renovations.

We stayed at this hotel two years ago in room 317. The same room assigned to us. After I unpacked I noticed lamp shade ripped and torn, seat in shower barely hanging on, no shelf for soap or shaver, hair in shower, sheets and towels so thin you can see thru them, and filthy carpet. I left my slippers in car by.mistake and after showering walked on rug with damp feet. When I went back into bathroom there were black foot prints I left. I rec'd a text asking me about room. I took photos and texted multiple times. No reply to change rooms. Next morning I complained and was told sorry, it's not acceptable for housekeeping and it would be reported. No offer to waive room charge or provide extra points. We would never stay here again. Ps walls are thin. Could hear laughter in all at 130 am which woke me up.

Decent hotel, not quite at the normal level for a Hampton Inn though. Clean rooms, typical Hampton breakfast friendly people. Negatives, small tight parking lot, no EV chargers on site (despite the hotel website stating it does). Would stay again, but won’t go out of the way to stay here.

Cats were running in the Hall at night. People running in the Hall for an hour at night. Hotel Staff did not answer phone. HVAC unit mode is not controlled by guest, but set only on Low. (NO Fan or High is permitted). Some broken fixtures in the room. Management will not address. Just a terrible night and not recommended.
