The location, facilities and service were excellent. The porcelain tile floors in our cabin were unnecessarily waxed and very slippery. The wax needs to be removed to prevent a slip and fall.

I would avoid staying at the lodge. We paid $400 for one night for a room facing the street over the noisy HVAC system. The room was bare bone - no TV or refrigeration. But worst of all, the room wasn't clean. The shower gel was completely empty, the room smelled moldy, so we had to open the windows, and the windowsills were filthy and full of bugs. I had to clean the room myself with our shower towels and the hotel vacuum because they were understaffed. We were told that management would make it right by adjusting our bill, but they have not contacted us. I have never written a bad review before but felt compelled to do so because the price of the lodge was so out of proportion to the quality and cleanliness of the room. On a positive note, we enjoyed the lodge's restaurant and had good and friendly service there. So, eat here but don't stay here if you can avoid it.

Beautiful stay right by the water! We had a very cute little cabin, rustic feeling but very comfortable. Comfortable beds and pillows, nicely stocked kitchen. The bathroom is a bit small, including the shower, but for a national park lodge, it was just fine. The location is great, loved the views, nice amenities including the store (with coffee options!) and the restaurant (tip: make a reservation in advance). All in all, a great stay.

The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, beautiful views of the ocean and decent wifi.

If you’re not a camper, lodges in national parks are the way to go. Kalaloch is close to both the Hoh Rainforest and the Quinalt Rainforest and is next to some lovely beaches. However, for the price we paid, I was hoping for nicer, quieter accommodations. Much mold on each lamp shade.

There really aren't any places to stay near the national park so they can overcharge and underserve. Our room (motel style) was showing its age and is creaky, as in you hear every footstep of the room above yours. There was a very odd open pipe in the bathroom baseboard which did make me worry about either water or rodents, though we never saw one. It is convenient for making a trek to the rainforests or Ruby Beach, but if I were to do it again, I might stay only one night, as it's in such a remote part of the park that you will end up backtracking to go sleep there another night. At least the motel doesn't allow pets.

The location is beautiful and quite perfect. We stayed four nights which was good, relaxing and not too pressuring for time. The Beach is accessible too, where many weren't. The restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinners. (We were never there for lunch.) The entire staff were helpful and personable. Meals were a bit limited but given Kalaloch's remote location it's understandable. The mercantile was handy for snacks. We'd ordered wine, a cheese plate and sweets to be in the room when we arrived, and all were very good & welcomed (we actually ate the cheese plate while we waited a short 25 minutes to get into the Hoh rainforest.) We stayed in a suite in the 2 story building behind the cabins , and it had a great fireplace and plenty of wood each day. One or two days it was warm enough to sit in front of our ground floor room, in the Adirondack chairs looking at the ocean (visible between the cabins in front of us). The room was very dated, but comfy, and a friend stayed over one night on the futon sofa for which bedding was provided. It was helpful to have a fridge and microwave (and of course coffee maker.) The lobby in the main building was very small, as was the gift shopping quite limited. I really wished there had been a big selection of native made art/crafts. (Almost none). We'd definitely stay there again, and for the same amount of time as it was relaxing to settle in there.

Know Before You Go: we reserved a room in the main lodge and were given the only room on the first floor. Room was in deplorable state. Holes in carpet, stained furniture, walls need painting, food crumbs on table and floor, shoes stuck to bathroom floor, generally dirty run down appearance. So went to request a different room. Room manager told us there were no other rooms and asked me to clarify what I meant by describing the room as a dump. She asked if we wanted the room cleaned. Since there were no other rooms and there’s no other lodging around, of course we did. Cleaning was so minimal that my shoes still stick to the bathroom floor and the worm out carpet still had crumbs. Bed was not comfortable and lighting was poor. A window in the front door was covered by a cheap piece of lightweight navy cloth screwed into the door frame. No internet in the room and very spotty in the restaurant. For almost $400 a night, we expected the property to at least be maintained. The best part is the view. It’s gorgeous.
