I have stayed at Footscray motor inn numerous times & I've honestly never had any issues at all. The spa is great, the rooms are clean & perfect sizing for how ever many people are staying. Reception are wonderful. The location is perfect whether you have a car or on transport the tram & a few different buses right at the doorstep train station within walking distance. Plenty of choices for shops if needed. Only thing I'd suggest that could be better is maybe a microwave & or toaster. Also some cutlery & crockery but that's all.

The place is pretty basic and quite dated but it was clean enough and the staff were friendly. We were in the spa room which had the king size bed which was comfortable. We didn’t use the spa bath but the shower was over the bath and as there is no screen or curtain and a leaking spray from the shower head there was plenty of water about. It’s a bit run down but is ok value on a weekend when the city was pretty booked out with Pink in town. Fair value.

I like to think I’m a pretty lenient person. I can look past the rusty kettle or broken toilet seat/toilet paper holder. The lack of microwave and utensils and hand soap and other core basics. I’m no stranger to cheaper places to stay and as long as the place is comfortable, I don’t mind some hiccups. But I draw the line at bedbugs. And draw ANOTHER line at cruel and unsympathetic business owners. My friend and I stayed in a room with two beds for the weekend, one queen, one single. My friend woke with a couple bites on their arms and legs. Initially we thought these were mosquito bites, however as the day went on and the bites settled they were clearly trademark bedbug bite patterns. We called reception and one of the staff (NOT the owner) was incredibly apologetic, but clearly was not trained at all in how to deal with the situation, as he sounded panicked that we had called after cleaners had left for the day. When we got back to the hotel, we spoke with him in person and were given new sheets to change ourselves, and ended up staying in the same room again another night. We changed the sheets and checked everything best we could, and my friend and I swapped beds so they could hopefully get some sleep. My friend woke up the next day with more bites on their back, and while searching for some jewellery that had gone missing from the room the night before (suspected stolen during cleaning but I don’t have solid evidence), I found a bedbug and promptly killed it. We had to leave for a work event but after talking with the owner on the phone, when we got back he had a new room sorted for us. He gave us a bedbug specific spray and we positively DOUSED all of our belongings with it and shook out/thoroughly investigated all of our clothes and bags before moving to the new room. The next morning we BOTH woke up with new bites still, and ended up leaving that morning (thankfully it was our last night there anyway). A phonecall to the owner later that day had him try to accuse us of being the ones to bring the bugs in, which I may have given some thought if not for the fact that we were unbelievably thorough when moving our belongings, and also kept our baggage in the bathroom in this new space, limiting opportunities for bugs to transfer over. The phonecall started to get heated when requested compensation, and also I brought up reviews of previous bedbug experiences (he had said they’d only ever had bedbugs once before in the history of the motel, and there were at least three other reports), claiming that the health inspectors had come in and given the place the all clear. Not appreciating being yelled at, I hung up. He then CALLED ME BACK, asked angrily if I’d hung up on him, and insisted that he had a certificate that the place was clear of bedbugs. I stated he had my phone and email, so could he please send me a photo of this certificate. I was met with a ‘f*** off then’ and was hung up on. My memory isn’t clear on the exact o

Would not book again for many reasons. It says wheelchair friendly, yet I was placed on the second floor, 2 sets of stairs. It advertised wifi but failed to say there was a $10 fee per device. It advertises that it was suitable for 4 people, as we put into the website and they then charged us an extra $10 a night for an extra bed, even though it's advertised as a 4 person room. We finally get to the hotel and go to the room, entrance light doesn't work. Can't put clothes away in the dark as that's where the wardrobe is, the doors security chain has been broken off, no remote for the heater/aircon which we had to go down the stairs (wheelchair friendly) to get a remote. Fan switch is broken, lamp missing its globe, no safes for securing belongings. Over all for the quality and the price we would have been better off staying in the city, but this was recommended to us for some reason. Never again, I would honestly be able to say this is the worst place I have stayed in, in all my trips to Melbourne. The only half decent thing was the bathroom, it's massive. I personally would use the space for a bath is that big.

Dirty and old, furniture cheap and damaged or dirty, curtains and shower curtain filthy, damaged front door. Awoke at 6am with door knocking from a stranger who after realising we weren’t who he was looking for wanted to chat! No restaurants nearby needed to take car

Initially I was gonna give a 4star review. We stayed in a spa suite. The beds were made with fresh sheets, surfaces appeared clean. No microwave only appliance was a kettle. The bathroom looked clean enough but tiles and surfaces were falling off and big cracks and chips and non water tight areas. The toilet seat wasn't attached to the toilet bowl. Spa jets were missing covers, no shower curtain and the spa shower and sink water sprayed over the whole bathroom if you didn't use super low water pressure. Spa had somebody else's hairs floating in it when we turned the pump on. My 3yo child located some sort of organic pills/drugs in one of the cupboards. And when my child lifted the couch cushions there was a plethora of rubbish, condom wrappers and generally grotty stuff. The beds were ok-ish but could feel the springs. Pillows were beyond useless and had no support. I was willing to overlook the bathroom issues because it clearly needs renovation and damage looks just due to age...but the grotty and dangerous things that were located by my child make me certain we'll never come back. Not worth the money even if it's a great location close to the showgrounds. 2stars, 1 for location and 1 for the friendly young guy at reception who's manager came and breathed down his neck and stared at me making me feel really awkward.

We stayed in an executive spa room. Room matched description. Have to ask for milk on arrival at reception and it comes in tiny teaspoon size sachets. No microwave in room which surprised me, only a kettle ans fridge. Beds were clean and comfy. Spa and bathroom were clean..however the bathroom really does need an update, the toilet seat wasn't attached properly and was sliding everywhere the floor tiles had really grotty grout and other bathroom fixtures like tiles and surfaces were coming apart broken or chipped. And the shower had no shower curtain so sprayed allover the bathroom. But for the price it was reasonable. Young man at reception was very polite. We got what we paid for I guess but I'd probably never stay here again unless it was a last resort.
