Super 8 by Wyndham Fond du Lac

When we discovered Oshkosh hotel rates were already jacked up ahead of the EEA and Sheboygan County hotels were limited due to Riad America, we finally found a reasonable price room at the Super 8 in Fond Du Lac. We stayed for two weekend nights at $139 per night plus tax and fees and then came back for 5 nights at $104 per night plus tax and fees. It is conveniently located off of Highway 41. There is off street free parking. There is nearby turn around space for large vehicles at the mainly empty Kohl's back parking from the old mall lot next door. The front desk was friendly and efficient. There are two stories but no elevator. It was a quiet hotel even though it was fairly busy with highway 41 nearby. It was walking distance to a Panda Express and a local Mexican restaurant. It is a short drive to many other restaurants, shopping areas, sites and other conveniences. There is an ATM in the lobby and a safe in the room. We had a microwave and a minifridge (though no freezer section). We had two drawer dressers. We had a desk with chair and a separate lounge chair. The first stay we had a queen single with nightstands and lights on both sides. The second stay we had a single king. The first stay we had an accessible self-contained bathroom. There was free reliable internet and free accessible ice machines. There was a hair dryer but no iron or board. Toiletries were in dispensers. The grounds were fairly clean. In fact, we saw the night manager picking up trash and changing trash barrels. There was also housekeeping each day. The breakfast was a bit limited. It was mainly continental items. Some mornings, items were not refilled. Unfortunately, conservative news programs were on during breakfast in the common space. There was an accessible coin operated laundry. The neighborhood seemed safe. It was the most competitive price during all these summer events.

Hotel staff was polite and courteous. Rooms were very nice for the price.

2 nights to shop and relax A clean simple hotel where my daughter and I stayed two nights - we were only supposed to stay one and at the last minute figured out we needed the second and the manager figured out how to do that AND keep us in the same room! It is close to Shopping and only a few minutes down the road is the entrance to the park at lake Winnebego (splash pad, ice cream, lighthouse etc.) overall great experience!

Very nice and clean hotel. I did a late check in because I needed a place to sleep. I think I was there less than 12 hours. I watched tv, fell asleep, and left. The female staff there was really nice. I forgot my food in the fridge. I came back about 20 minutes later to retrieve it. It was still there. Thanking TMH for that and the nice desk clerk who let me go in the room to get it.
