Skyggnir Bed and Breakfast

Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights (our home-base & break from driving from the North), and we were so happy about being in the middle from all the places we wanted to see. We visited Geysir, then Gullfoss, on Day 2 (1st day was resting after that long drive), then enjoyed the hot pot from the neighbor for a small fee. Day 3 we visited the Blue Lagoon, then Reykjavik (used Parka App for street parking) & ate at Icelandic Street Food (restaurant) for the experience of local food. On the way back to our lovely Skyggnir B&B, we used the B&B’s advice & ate fresh ice-cream (you could see the cows) & went to Bruafoss (wasn’t on my list but soooo happy we saw the blue waterfall -Parka App was useful here, too). Our B&B also mentioned a Tarn, so we climbed up a mountain (steep-hiker’s heaven) & saw a lake on top of the mountain. Skyggnir is a perfect location for visiting the Golden Circle, with family. Other information- We stayed in 2 small rooms (small=warmer), and behind the door was so much space for 2 suitcases & a heavy duty rack to hang stuff up, a night stand, plenty of plugs (look up on the shelf), towels & bed linen. Plenty of everything a family would need, in all common areas, so if we ever come back to Iceland, “Skyggnir B&B would be our first choice & they are reasonably priced for families.” Enjoy!

My family and I stayed here for two nights and we found it was a great spot to explore the golden circle. Its less than an hour to Thingvellir and 20 minutes from Gulfoss. Its also literally around the corner from the Secret Lagoon so you can be amongst the first ones in when it opens. The B&B itself is basic but honestly has everything you need, and for a very good price by Iceland standard. There's around 6 bedrooms rooms, a couple with ensuite bathrooms and around 4 that share 2 bathrooms. There's a shared living and dining area and a shared kitchen. Theres various breakfast foods in the fridge and cupboards which is complimentary. The location of the B&B is outside the town of Fludir so its extremely quiet and peaceful, it's surrounded by hills and fields. The owner we met was extremely helpful, friendly and enjoyed talking to us about his family history and some facts about Iceland. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to some of the other guests. Overall we really enjoyed our short stay here and would definitely recommend it
