The host allowed us to check in late since we had late night connecting flight from Germany. The place is well-kept and quite spacious for 4 people. It has certain old world charms, such as floor-top terrace and upper-wall windows that we do enjoy. The nearby restaurants are quite good, but less crowded vs. near the Campo di Fiori. A good dinner for 4 people costs around 80-90 euros. There are also a few Asian restaurants nearby if you are tired of paste and steaks. The place is a little bit on the northern edge of the main attractions, but the walk is manageable. We would recommend the place to our friends if they visit Florence.

First the good bit , Ulrike is a wonderful host . Very helpful and attentive. However , our suite was not so much shabby chic as had seen better centuries. The bed covers , not the usual duvet , were of indeterminate origin. The shower was reminiscent of those in a caravan and hot water ran out in the early evening. You do get away from the world , as there is no tv . However, you can hear your neighbours with any sound over a whisper clearly audible.

I recently stayed at a lovely hotel that offered a great blend of comfort and elegance. The staff were friendly and attentive, making my experience enjoyable. The room was spacious and well-appointed, though a bit more attention to detail in cleaning would have made it perfect. Overall, a solid choice for a relaxing getaway!

Cold, Uncomfortable, and Misleading I called before proceeding with our booking to confirm that bed is super comfy.An owner was extremely persuasive. When we got to know this skilled salesperson, able to sell sand in the desert, we got an idea why the reviews were good in previous years... We were "upgraded" due to construction noise, but the so-called Mirrors Suite was no suite at all.Room at zero level and trash dispensers just in front of the building wasn't promising.The mirrors made sleeping impossible, and light leaked through the small curtains and blinds. The room was freezing despite following heating instructions. After catching a cold, I dreamed of a hot shower-only to be hit with ice-cold water after 30 seconds. The owner had no idea why the heat wasn’t working but casually reminded us of a hidden €36 tax at checkout...when I called to complain. The "new" mattress as an owner confirmed? Dated March 2019. The bed frame? Broken, taped together, and covering hidden holes. The air smelled of mildew and stale fabric from the bed and chairs. When we complained, Ulrike insisted the bed was new. But after fully uncovering it, the truth was right there-an old mattress, broken frame, and a cheap cover-up. At checkout, she smiled like an Oscar winner and lied again. If you're here for the mirrors, maybe you'll survive. Otherwise, stay elsewhere.
