The hotel room was dark, smelly and dirty. We tried to book another room at several nearby hotels, but all were filled due to Hurricane Milton. Not by any standard did it live up to the Hilton brand. We picked it because it got a 4.5 review rating. Donโt know what hotel everyone else is reviewing, because it clearly was NOT the one we booked. Would not stay here again, even if we had to sleep in the car.

Deon needs to be fired. He was a problem last year when I stayed. Heโs still a problem. You shouldnโt have your Bluetooth in your ear while working the desk. After being absolutely ignored when I arrived, I found my room and was immediately hit with a smoke smell. It was coming from the large vent in the wall near the window. It was strong and it wouldnโt lighten up unless I turned off the AC. I called down to Deon who informed me that I wouldnโt be charged a smoking fee. Ok. But maybe offer to move me?? Long story short, I turned off the AC and slept on the couch with the fan on. Absolutely unacceptable. Two years in a row and heโs still there treating guests like we are an inconvenience.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden and had an awful experience. I booked through Chase Travel, specifically selecting a room with free breakfast. When I arrived at breakfast the next morning, the front desk staff rudely informed me that breakfast was not included. Despite showing them the email confirmation clearly stating โfree breakfast,โ they dismissed my concerns, claiming it was a third-party issue and that they had already notified Chase. This is blatant false advertising, and they refused to honor what I had paid for. On top of that, the pillows were absolutely terribleโflat and uncomfortable. It felt like I was trying to sleep on two-dollar pillows from Walmart. Needless to say, I barely slept at all. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Their lack of customer service, coupled with false advertising and uncomfortable oaccommodations, made for a miserable stay.

To start, Hilton really needs to update the photos of this property on their website. While the photos on the website show very old and dated guest rooms, the actual rooms are significantly more modern than whatโs pictured online. The rooms have newer furniture and fixtures overall, though the bathroom and wall decor (mirror / art) appear untouched. On the other hand, the common areas remain pretty dated, with early-mid โ00s curtains and wallpaper; itโs a bit of a hodgepodge throughout the property. The hotel is centrally located with dining options like Mellow Mushroom, Chiliโs, and Waffle House nearby. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had one minor maintenance issue when we first checked in (bathroom door was locked) and the staff was very apologetic about it. Our guest room was fine for a quick overnight trip - we booked one of the โlargerโ queen rooms and appreciated the extra space it offered. The bathroom was very tiny though functional - definitely didnโt gain any square footage in the bathroom with the larger room. The only thing it felt like the room lacked was overhead lighting, as it only had a couple lamps and was pretty dark as a result. We would probably wait until the property is fully renovated to stay again, but would keep it in mind for the future.

The hotel is in a convenient location for traveling I-95, making a stop in Florence, and then driving on. Staff are friendly. It is convenient having a restaurant on site. As a place to stay, the hotel is average, neither specially good nor especially bad. The issues I had with the bedroom are mostly due to overall Hilton design standards and failure to think about or provide what people actually need. Why is the towel rack at the back of the shower, where the towels will get damp, and placed so high up that I had to stand on tiptoe to pull down a towel? Why are there not enough racks for hanging used towels up to dry, since there will be no service to the room for at least another day? Why is there no grab bar at the end of the tub where someone not wanting to be immediately soaked by the shower would choose to get in? Why does the AC blow unrelentingly cold when it's on, and in a horizontal pattern like a wind tunnel? Why does the thermostat reset itself? All Hilton across the board design choices, not the fault of this Garden Inn in particular.

This was a great option traveling on I-95. I appreciated being able to check in online on the Hilton app and get a digital key, breezing to my room. There was a maintenance issue, which was a clogged sink. Not the end of the world, but still inconvenient. The bathroom itself was pretty outdated. The bedroom portion of the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and we appreciated the opportunity to get food in the hotel.
