Wir haben diesen Urlaub in Thüringen ausgewählt , um die thüringer Gastfreundlichkeit hautnah zu erleben. Schließlich wirbt das Hotel genau mit dieser Formulierung. Leider haben wir diese vermisst. Wir reisten gegen 14:00 Uhr an und bekamen an der Rezeption den Schlüssel in die Hand gedrückt mit den Worten "Ich habe jetzt Feierabend". Wir sind von keiner Person in irgendeiner Weise eingewiesen worden. Nach 2 Tagen haben wir beim Hotelchef nachgefragt ob es für uns noch eine Gästekarte gibt, die wir dann auch erhielten. Die Hotelanlage ist mit viel Liebe gestaltet. Die Sauna ist ein Highlight. Das Frühstücksbuffet lässt keine Wünsche offen. Beim Restaurantbesuch am Abend hätten wir bei über 30° C eine leichtere Küche erwartet. Als Startpunkt für zahlreiche Unternehmungen ist das Hotel gut geeignet. Die im Internet aufgeführte Minibar im Komfortzimmer "Nesselberg" sucht man allerdings vergeblich, wichtig für Reisende die ihre Medikamente kühl halten müssen.

Wir haben bei unserer Rennsteigwanderung hier eine Nacht übernachtet und bedauern sehr, dass wir nicht länger geblieben sind. Der Thüringer Hof ist ein herrliches regionales Aktiv und Erholungshotel. Direkt hinter dem Haus beginnen Wanderwege und Radstrecke hinauf zum Rennsteig und zur Ebertswiese. Alles im Haus wirkt sehr neu und gepflegt, wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Familiengeführt, rühriges nettes Personal, vom Chef bis zum Azubi. Das Restaurant bietet herrliche Thüringer Küche – richtig krass deftig wer mag, aber auch frische Salate und viel Gemüse. Das Frühstück war ein Highlight unserer Wanderung, Müsli, frisches Obst, verschiedene Brötchen, dazu Aufschnitt, diverse Marmeladen und Honigsorten und leckeren Tee und Kaffee. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Unser Zimmer war gross und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit Aussicht auf viel Grünes und die Berge im Hintergrund. Es hat gerade geschneit sodass die Urlaubsatmosphäre perfekt war. Für mich waren die Matratzen ein wenig zu weich aber das ist Geschmackssache. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und die Bedienung wie überall im diesem familiengeführtes Hotel äusserst zuvorkommend. Das Abendessen bot ein vielfältiges Angebot an Fleisch, Fisch und vegetarische Gerichte. Eine thüringische Spezialität hat besonders gut geschmeckt, Schäufele heisst es und selten habe ich ein so zartes Schweinefleisch gegessen. Selbstverständlich als Beilage die köstlichen thüringischen Knödel.

Tolles Hotel
Ein sehr freundlicher Empfang, schnelles und unkompliziertes einchecken. Sauna wurde extra eingeschaltet. Eine sehr schöne neue Sauna mit exklusivem Ruhebereich. Hervorragendes Abendessen mit einem Gruß aus der Küche und auch das Frühstück kann sich sehen lassen. Hier können sich viele 4 Sterne Häuser ein dicke Scheibe abschneiden. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Last weekend we were with 3 families and stayed for 2 nights at the Thüringer Hof in Struth-Helmershof. Everything was perfect, the hotel is beautifully furnished, the rooms are modern and comfortable at the same time, some of them had a balcony. The hotel has very good food, we had a delicious dinner and the breakfast buffet is top class! We would especially like to thank the Kirschner family and the entire hotel team - you don't get such service very often these days! We can absolutely recommend the Thüringer Hof, and will definitely come back ourselves - the Thuringian Forest is always worth a trip.
