The change in ownership has not bode well for this resort. Still a beautiful location but the interior is declining. There is a resort fee but the hot tub had no jets working to produce the desired water flow - there was only enough water coming through the jets to keep the water moving...slightly. After calling the front desk and waiting almost 30 minutes after 2 calls, the maintenance man came and told us that is as powerful as the motor gets. It was like sitting in a tub vice in a hot tub. The inside of the hot tub showed major signs of wear as well, with covers missing and paint needed. Additionally, the floor was filthy around the tub. The towels in the room were frayed. The one shower in the women's locker room at the pool area had only cold water. The drain in the room bathroom was extremely slow. Shower needed a deep clean. In the restaurant, there was one bartender and he was moving, moving, moving. The servers were backed up 3 deep waiting to get drinks for their tables. The staff was very friendly and helpful, a highlight of the trip. I recommend staying somewhere else and coming to the state park to use the facilities there. Price is definitely excessive for the quality of the stay. It is a shame. Used to love coming here and feeling like it was a great escape. This time, I feel like I overpaid significantly and was left unsatisfied.

Although the staff we did encounter were nice, the entire facility was understaffed. Our room was a nice size, extremely quiet even with the resort at capacity, and clean. The resort comes with fees that I guess are for the pool (like the size of a generic hotel) and access to the little beaches. Everything else is for a fee. The restaurants are overpriced for what you get.

Check in was a nightmare and took over 2 hours without the facility offering all 6 of us a drink or access to the facility. During the stay we lost electricity from 9pm until 7:30 am the next day! They did comp a small coffee to the guest but you had to ask about it there wasn’t any notice at the coffee bar. Short staffed in multiple places throughout the facility.

Horrible food, dated and cigarette smelling expensive “resort”. Their customer service is to tell you “they are aware of the bad food” and “ you should try to order something else”. Do not spend your hard earned money here. The salmon was inedible, pizza for lunch disgusting and the breakfast oats were vile.

Avoid Lake View if you like to have some quiet time..Had suite just above the outdoor bar and music stage. Live music plays until 10:00PM ET, so keep that in mind if booking Lake view with room views (near the music stage). For the room itself, mattress, pillows, and sheets were old and in need of refreshing. Anything above 5 feet in room doesn't get dusted. Shower curtain smelled and needed a good cleaning.
