Terrible experience. There was a fire in the hotel and we were escorted out of the building by police at 7AM in the morning while running down smoke filled halls. We sat outside for hours in near freezing temperatures without our warm clothes while the hotel offered no assistance at all. After a few hours we were able to get our belongings which were covered with ash and soot. The manager, Spencer Miller, did nothing for us and would not even credit us the night stay.

My husband and I decided at the last minute to book a trip to the mountains. We didn't want to go far, so we decided to find a hotel in Asheville, NC. I went on Priceline and was able to get a good deal at the Clarion Inn Airport. I was a little hesitant since there were some negative reviews; however, I have to admit our experience was AWESOME. The staff accommodated our early arrival and late check out. Our hotel room was clean, updated, and the bathroom was spacious (which is important for me LOL). We enjoyed the indoor and outside pool. The breakfast each morning was EVERYTHING... I did see all positive reviews about their breakfast, but you have to experience it to believe it.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Asheville Airport the last week of February, 2008, and it was a very pleasant experience. My husband & I are between the ages of 60 & 70, and were in Asheville making arrangements to have a retirement home built on property we had purchased the previous summer. The car rental agency was in the hotel lobby & the airport shuttle service was readily available. The driver was extremely courteous, even when having to make a second trip to the airport to help me find a piece of luggage I left at the baggage area. We spent 5 nights and the room was always made up & very clean when we would get back from our morning excursions. The buffet breakfast, including omelets made to order, was a cut above the typical hotel fare. By being a member of Holiday Inns Priority Club, the buffet was 25% off, which made the total cost for 2 about $20.00. There is a shopping center about 1/2 mile away, making it very convenient for picking up groceries, electronic supplies & just about anything you might need. The only draw back to the hotel location, is that the restaurants are on the opposite site of a major highway, which is the only place to get something to eat late at night. So if you have a late flight (as we did) take snacks, or eat where ever you have a layover. If you request it at check in, the hotel will place a small refrigerator in your room (if available) at no extra charge. This is very handy if spending more than a couple of days.

We had to stay in this city because of a family death. I didn't really have a chance to check it out prior to our visit as I normally do. The lobby was ok and they served a good breakfast; however, the room was not very clean. We had to have our linens replaced. IT smelled like it had been closed up for some time. Very disappointed. The location was great as it was right by the airport and highway.

Staff was extremely friendly. There are NO locks on the doors leading outside so the hotel is pretty much open to the public. The pool area is exposed to the main lobby so be prepared to "show your stuff" to all of you want to take a dip :) Breakfast was pretty good. There is a nice buffet in the morning. The room was nice and clean and here is the "UNTIL": We ordered pizza and only after a few hours, there were ants crawling everywhere. They started in the trash and made there way around the room. Everything MUST be keep inside the refrigerator. There was also a worm that stopped by to visit so I am assuming that the insulation isn't that great and there is an opening in the wall somewhere. There is another review here that strongly resembles my experience so if you have the time to look for better than this, I would definitely take that route.

The room was really dirty. It looked like had their hands in the dirt and then left handprints all over the bathroom door. There was hair in the bathtub and the carpet definitely needed vacuuming. My daughter forgot her toothbrush, when we asked the reception desk for a spare toothbrush, they told us they ran out. The breakfast in the morning was also horrible as well- orange juice was spoiled and tasted disgusting, the menu listed regular yogurt and Greek yogurt, there were 4 regular yogurts in the fridge and no Greek. When my daughter put some bacon on her plate, it came with some extra hair. Never would stay there again!

The hotel was nice and clean with pleasant staff. You can tell it was a little older but it was maintained. At check in, there was an issue printing out the receipt, but it was handled quite well by the clerk. The room itself was clean and neat. I liked how they did the bathroom counter with the open shelving. The location was perfect. We went to the Mother Earth fair and were only just a few minutes away from the grounds. There is also a shopping center within walking distance (just be a little cautious as it is a very busy road). We will definitely be back!

Strongly dissatisfied with my stay here a few days ago. The rooms need a lot of maintenance. Heat smelled like something was burning. Bathrooms need an upgrade. Not worth the price. There are other better hotels in the area.
