Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Victor/Rochester

The hotel is a bit dated and could use a refresh on carpets and door locks. My key cards would work for a day and then stop working. I constantly had to have them rekey the cards. Breakfast is heavy on the carbs but the coffee machine actually makes a decent cup of coffee. Greek yogurt was a nice addition and Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches were usually available, along with their pancake machine and bagels. the rooms sport bathtubs that are fairly tall and might be a challenge for older visitors

This hotel was very average and was not very comfortable and smelled bad. The bed was not firm and the pillows were soft. The AC unit was loud and went off and on frequently. The grounds and outside of the hotel look nice but the hotel inside needs some updating. I considered this a very average stay and did not feel rested. The price was high for an average hotel.

The staff very nice. Very clean. Would stay again. If I had to complain about something, the air conditioner was set at 65 but never really felt cool. I mentioned it to the manager and she was going to have it looked at. Lots of good breakfast choices. No elevator but not a deal breaker for us.

I wish I had found this place 10 years ago — this place is soooo much nicer than the many dumps you will find on I-90 between Albany and Toledo. Clean, comfortable, pleasant, really good breakfast spread with real food. I will be back next summer!

The issues I experienced include: Unclean Bathroom – Upon arrival, there were visible human hairs on the bathroom floor. We had to contact housekeeping to re-clean the area immediately. Damaged Ironing Board Cover – The ironing board cover was burned, and those marks transferred onto my brand-new white shirt, permanently staining it just before an important event. Housekeeping did eventually replace the ironing board cover, but by then the damage was already done. Ant Infestation – We discovered ants crawling all over the window area and even into our clothing, which was both unsanitary and unacceptable for any hotel stay. Additional Concern – Wyndham Rewards Disappointment As a new Wyndham Rewards member, I’m disappointed that I was not eligible to earn points because I booked via *******. This is frustrating because the exact same hotel room—offered at a lower rate—was available on third-party sites, but I would have received no added benefit in terms of room quality or service had I booked directly. The fact that reward points are withheld in these circumstances seems unfair, especially when the stay experience fell far short of expectations. Given these circumstances, I believe a partial refund or other form of compensation is warranted. I had trusted Wyndham for a safe and clean stay, but this experience left me dissatisfied and inconvenienced. I would appreciate a timely response and a resolution that reflects Wyndham's commitment to guest satisfaction.

The room and bedding was clean. Small room but okay for two people staying one night. However, the air conditioning in room 126 needs fixing or update to a new one.. Thr buttons can’t tell you where is it set at. So that frustrated me, because I was tired from my drive and just wanted to sleep. So for that I only gave 4 stars . Staff is very kind, nice looking if you know what I mean. Food was average for the money- pastries, bread, coffee, good variety of tea, juice, waffles, oats. No eggs or other warm food, no fruit besides dry cranberries. But they did have almond milk in a small container! Thank you very much. Add some nuts for oats. Add apples and bananas to the menu and it will be better. However that said, I rather pay this price for a clean, safe and good staff hotel and get an average breakfast and spend money on lunch. So no bad review except for the heating and cooling unit. Oh, hotel is next to the highway but the windows seem to block that out quite good.
