Filitheyo Island Resort

Our stay at Filitheyo Island was absolutely gorgeous! The island and its house reef are simply breathtaking, with stunning coral formations and an incredible variety of fish. Our villa was perfect—just a few steps from the reef, making it easy to explore the underwater beauty. The food was incredible—delicious and diverse, with a different cuisine to enjoy every night. The bar was fantastic, and the staff truly made our stay unique. A special thanks to Rabiul and Raj at the bar, who were always kind, friendly, and had the best attitude. The only issue we encountered was during checkout. We had planned for a late checkout to have lunch at the main restaurant and enjoy a few last drinks at the bar, but our departure time was suddenly changed without prior notice. We only found out because we happened to ask at reception. As a result, we left the resort earlier than expected, only to wait nearly an hour on the boat near the airport, which didn’t make much sense to us. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay!

This is our fourth visit to the Maldives and we wanted an authentic experience. No news no shoes, how the Maldives should be! In the style of Coco-palm (Dhuni Kolhu) this is very similar and naturally beautiful. The island is well kept with an abundance of trees and vegetation . We had a deluxe room (number 9) which was rustic and gave us everything we needed. Serviced twice each day by Shafiqul who was brilliant and looked after everything we needed. Two bars and a restaurant all easily accessible we had selected the all inclusive option which gave a wide variety of food and drinks. The team at Filitheyo are amazing and what undoubtedly makes the island what it is. I'm sure I may miss someone out but here are are some of the outstanding individuals who looked after us so well during our stay. Hossain, Rubel, Faruk and Raj who each day were attentive and had great humour, you are the best! Essentials are without a doubt reef shoes and mosquito repellent which is to be expected. Get a SIM card at the airport if you need contact with the outside world. The shop at the airport will change it for you and adjust the necessary settings for $40 giving you 20gb (more than enough). WiFi is expensive on the island so this is recommended. Thanks to everyone on this idyllic island it was very special and natural. Not in the control of Filitheyo, TMA (seaplane) need to operate better as your luggage may arrive on a later flight which after a long journey is not what you need. I highly recommend this resort! This is my first time in the Maldives and I was able to visit 3 islands on my trip prior to my stay at Filitheyo Island. By far, Filitheyo Island was my favorite out of the 4 islands. The resort has a beautiful house reef with lots of fish. Also, I was able to see sharks and a turtle! Make sure to bring water shoes because you will need them. The only thing that I was sad about were the excursions kept getting canceled because not enough people signed up for them. I really wanted to see the whale sharks 😔. I understand that is out of the staff’s control so I won’t hold that against the resort. The staff was very friendly but I’d like to give a special thank you to my room boy, Mujahidul! He was very professional and went out of his way to make sure that I had a very pleasant stay so THANK YOU!! I will be back again! Until next time 🏝️
