Heel goed voor een overnachting op doorreis / korte tussenstop Na een verblijf van ruim twee weken in Oostenrijk reden mijn 10-jarige dochter en ik (vader) op de terugweg naar Nederland een adembenemende bergpassenroute door Oostenrijk en Zwitserland. Onze t****e stop was Hotel Ristorante Baldi in Fiesso, Ticino. Bij aankomst hebben we uitstekend gegeten in het restaurant – de aanwezigheid daarvan is zeker een pluspunt, vooral na een lange reis. We bleven één nacht en werden vriendelijk ontvangen door het personeel. Voor Zwitserse begrippen is dit een redelijk geprijsde accommodatie. De kamerinrichting is wat gedateerd, maar alles was schoon en comfortabel. Het ontbijt was prima, al liet de geserveerde koffie in de kan wel te wensen over. Tip van de week: vraag om een verse espresso of cappuccino! Overigens, de ligging in de Leventina-vallei, vlakbij de Tremorgio-kabelbaan maakt het ook geschikt voor wie een dagje wil wandelen of een korte stop wil combineren met natuur. Gratis parkeren. Al met al een prettige plek voor een overnachting of korte tussenstop onderweg, met een gastvrije sfeer en alles wat je nodig hebt om even op adem te komen. Wij zouden hier zo weer boeken.

This place is cute and clean and has a lovely breakfast. You have to tell them you want breakfast and pay extra per person. It is worth it and yummy.

We have stayed at the Baldi several times on the way to/from Italy. Conveniently sited just a few miles from the St Gotthard tunnel/pass, parking right outside, really nice staff and clean comfortable rooms. Excellent pizzas, an American couple at the next table were tucking into very tasty looking steaks. A cable car 5 minutes walk away goes up to a lake, great place to stretch your legs after a day in the car
