This property was like stepping into the past. Very historic and filled with lovely antiques and a friendly staff. The only note is that all rooms are on the second floor so something to consider.

Fenway House -Think Twice
This hotel was a big disappointment. They do not clean the rooms during your stay. I had to ask for fresh towels after two days and they gave me one more wash cloth, hand towel and bath towel, no fresh bath mat.
There is never anyone at the front desk. You have to call a number if you need anything.
The HVAC in the rooms is substandard. The window AC unit had to be set to 76 degrees (it was 80 degrees outside) because at 70 or 72 degrees if was freezing in the room. At night I froze because any heat was too hot. Leaving the unit off, the room would get to hot. None of the windows opened or were in working order.

Everything you read in other reviews about the charming, unique nature of this hotel is spot on. Definitely not your "cookie cutter" modern space. Lots of character. Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. The downside is the road noise. The hotel is right on a busy main street that has plenty of traffic - and there is little to insulate from that noise if you are on that side of the building. I would avoid rooms that face the main street (102, 102, 105, 106). The side street rooms and back side rooms seemed much quieter. I would stay again, but would choose a different room.

Nice! Friendly staff, new decor and beds, very clean, ample Continental breakfast in pleasant dining area. A good value - stay here and support a local business. The hotel is on a small highway through town, but no traffic noise during sleeping hours.

My positive experience was worth sharing since it's hard to find places for a wonderful memory like I had at the Fenway House Hotel. The staff was top-level friendly and professional during check in and during my stay. They went above and beyond to even give me a ride from the local repair shop since my car died stranding me in the quaint and nice town of Fennimore. Among the many features that I liked about the hotel were the large rooms, modern upgrades to the 1918 building, historic architecture, comfy bed, "grab and go" breakfast, a real desk to work at with my laptop, and convenient location. I would definitely recommend staying there.
