Boarders Inn and Suites by Cobblestone Hotels - Fayette

We stayed in more than 10 hotels in our cross country trip and this hotel was by far the best place we stayed. The room was spacious, the amenities were great, but most of all the staff was helpful and offered wonderful guest service.

Very friendly service. Nice accommodations. The breakfast was smaller, but plenty of options…would stay again for sure!

Michael the night desk agent was amazing! He even helped us carry our luggage to the second floor. We spent time in the lounge too and he was very attentive to our needs.

Staff was amazing. I was there fir my ragbrai rife and they were so accommodating to everyone. Had extra hydration out for riders and lots of healthy snacks

Positives first - Location in proximity to where we needed to be for Sunday pickup of another family member was great. (30ish miles away). Quiet location as well as it is a low lying area on the west side of 150. Check in was great and I like that it was only about $30 more authorization for incidentals (which was refunded by my bank 2 days after checkout. Booked direct on the Cobblestone site. The lobby area was very nice to sit to read or get work done. They had Cold Water available always in a jug and Seattle's Best coffee stand. I am not a coffee drinker but for those that are it is a nice touch. Here is what was fair - Complementary Breakfast was OK. The Hot portion was a waffle maker/toaster option, plus a Crock Pot of Sausage Gravy with biscuits on the side. They had a good complement of spreads and jellies for the bread that you could toast. The sausage gravy was from a bulk store with no additional seasonings (standard for most complementary breakfasts at hotels that they do not add any seasonings to it). Small beverage dispenser for two juices and then coffee. Here is what needed/needs improvement. They have a lounge which is a nice idea. They have some beers but only had Frozen Cheese Pizza for food availability. The lounge was not in use for the most part for the two days we were there. They are missing out on an opportunity to make that a showpiece to have additional traffic Pool area - Nice design and layout but the inside temperature was 88 degrees and my family was sweating just sitting there. We did alert maintenance when we were checking out. Would have been a nice area to sit for a few hours but was not able to do so. Pool water was cloudy. Hot tub jets are operated by a light switch which was a little confusing. Smell - A bit of a musty smell in the hallway and in the room upon initial arrival. Thank you for having us.
