Arrived at the hotel on 23rd July, was impressed when we walked in, reception area was clean and loved the decor, there was a Costa coffee inside, some arcade machines, a bar where they had entertainment at night which was good. The back of the hotel had a beautiful lake with a waterfall, small play area for kids, plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view of the lake. Garden area was well maintained, we were very impressed. The room itself was clean, we had no complaints about the room at all, we are a family of 5 and had a family room, double bed, single bed and bunk beds. We ate at the garden restaurant downstairs for breakfast, plenty of choice, full English buffet, fruit, cereals, pan cakes, croissants, tea, coffee, three types of juice which tasted a bit watery but everything else was perfect . Perfect location and because we stayed on site we had early access to the theme park which was a bonus!! Plus we had a game of golf in with the hotel. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, we all enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Our room was clean and ok. Well worn but basic. Breakfast wasn't nice. Heavily oiled and fried with a strange oily after taste. They had sliced melon and pineapple as a fruit option however the melon was not freshly cut and was squashy. Pastries counter and toast saved the day- however would have preferred fresh fruit bowl/less oily breakfast. Evening meal we booked the restaurant, got seated and nobody came to us for over half an hour. So we left. The bar serves pizza and chips so we ordered that. For the price we expected better. If you're going to charge someone £17.50 for a small pizza then it needs to be amazing and it wasn't. I'll attach bar food menu to my review. Value for money here is poor and as a working class person it's pretty much almost priced out for us. Costa upstairs had the same sandwich on display for over 6 hours and still thought it acceptable to sell it to someone. Food standards are extremely poor here and I'd encourage people to eat off site or bring something with. Staff however are friendly and helpful. I would only want to book this hotel on a room only basis in the future.

We had a very nice time staying at the Alton Towers hotel and found everything very easy to do. We had chosen the Moonage Voyage room which was very well themed and my son absolutely loved. The room was spacious and our view was of the Pond at the back which was nice to look out to. The only fault I would have with this hotel would be the way breakfast is done as it seemed a bit limited and the set up wasn’t as good as Splash Landings hotel but a lot of this was down to it not being a buffet restaurant in the evening. The other perk which was a good bonus for us was that during school holidays they let hotel guests in an hour before general guests so we got to do a lot in the CBeebies area before the big queues started

Attention to detail of theming is great. But that’s where it ends. Very very dated. Beds aren’t very comfortable (especially the trundle beds), we had to request extra duvets to lie on so we couldn’t feel the metal frame of the bed. Airconditioning worked well in the room too! Housekeeping do a great job keeping the rooms clean - it was spotless. Staff try to be as helpful as they can be within the parameters they are given. Food and drinks very expensive as you’d expect. Costa is great and Dragon’s bar great choice of drinks. Entertainment good too.

Excellent Holliday at Alton towers hotel and in the park IF you properly research and plan it. Disabled ride access set up is a nightmare and must be completed 7 days prior (but I think it’s becoming the norm everywhere) and everything is miles apart so good trainers and several days needed but if you plan well you will love it and the staff are at another level of excellence. Thank you Alton Towers! X

Great Hotel Just let down by the Secret Garden restaurant. Stayed here as a family of four, Great from our first impression and it lasted throughout the hotel, Really friendly and knowledgeable staff, telling us the quickest way to get into the water park (Monerail stops a couple of minutes walk from the hotel) lovely room, The Moon voyage, spotless! We booked the Secret Garden restaurant for 8pm and still had to wait in a 20 min queue, food was overpriced and absolutely nothing special, Breakfast was included in the price but it was cheap tasteless produce. shame as our stay at Alton Towers hotel was brilliant and would definitely return but not go the restaurant.

This was a special trip for my sons birthday, we stayed in the moon explorer room. I have to say for the price I was disappointed apart from the decor I have stayed in better Traelodges. We arrived at 3.30pm after a very hot day in the theme park. Once in our room we wanted to freshen up and cool off before dinner, however the air conditioning would not work. The window would only open slightly and it was stiffling. My husband went to reception were they changed the battery in the remote however it still wouldn't work. It suddenly came on for four minutes then off again so not enough to cool the room. When we went for dinner we reported it again and were told someone from housekeeping would have a look. After dinner we arrived back to a very hot room, it was on but on fan which was little more than useless. Again down to reception they said they would send someone. I had a cold shower to try to cool off. My son was even hotter as the location of the bunk beds made it hotter with the curved wall and tiny space. An engineer came about an hour later and said he had reset it and would send a new remote up and a fan. Another man arrived with a new remote half an hour later, and said it was shutting down because the room had got to temperature, which was utter bull***t. He said the fan would be sent up. Still not working only for 4 minutes every half hour, my husband played with the new remote and somehow after another hour or so finally got it to stay on for longer than 4 mins. Then I got a text to say no fan could be found and enjoy the rest of your stay it was 10pm then, hot and exhausted. I thought the room was poor, small not very clean, dated the curtains didn't even meet. I won't be staying again there. I stayed in the hobbit house in enchanted village last year but thought the hotel would be a special treat. When asked on checking out if we enjoyed our stay we said no and explained above the reply was oh enjoy the rest of your day. I ordered the birthday package and part of that wasn't there. Shocking for the premium price you psy

We checked in, and had to change room, but not too bad, was sorted quickly. Got to the second room, and my daughter ran out of the bathroom when she saw the state of the toilet. We grabbed a cleaner and asked him to sort. He went to get a supervisor who did it instead. I told the front desk and the supervisor James just told that since the issue was resolved, he would just tell housekeeping to be more careful in future. I don’t think that anyone could have possibly have missed the remnants of the therm nuclear explosion that the last guest left, so I think that it is a bit more than taking care. I explained to James that my daughters and wife had been freaked out. We left it that I would post this, and perhaps one of the Alton Towers social media can explain why finding a toilet untouched since someone with dysentery used it isn’t such a big deal. Btw, their bar prices are quite extraordinary too! £8.25 a Guinness. Thought that I was at Gleneagles!
