This was pleasantly surprising as I'd read some mixed reviews. Plentiful parking, edge of town location and very friendly and engaging staff. Spacious rooms. We ate there and had a really excellent meal. In any restaurant it can vary with the chef, but we certainly hit the right moment. Value for money as well.

We stayed for one night to celebrate a special occasion. A lovely hotel with beautiful and well-kept grounds. We ate in the restaurant and the good was well prepared and beautifully presented. The staff are very friendly and helpful- a real credit to the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable- the supplies in the bathroom are limited but I had packed everything I need. It was a very warm night and fans were available. I would’ve given five stars except that I think some more provision about those who are mobility impaired would be helpful- walk-in showers and grab rails. In particular, the lift closes very fast and doesn’t have the facility that retracts of it encounters an object (person!) as the doors close which upset my elderly mother quite a bit.

I am not sure why there are reviews over the last month that give one star. Honestly, a very comfortable stay, food was good and this was for a gala dinner for some 200 people, always a challenge. Staff were helpful. Room was clean, beds really comfortable and the bathroom clean and perfectly adequate. Would recommend, please ignore the folks looking for a discount in return for a good review.

The hotel is such good value form money I have stayed there the past 3 years for the Gin to My Tonic event. Booked already for 2026 with my other 3 cohorts! We would not stay anywhere else! We have had the most glorious days out and about the Cotswalds with Sudbury House our base. The beds are extremely comfortable and the food in the restuarant and breakfast are delicious.The rooms are clean and fresh and the grounds are very pretty as well. Staff are all welcoming and accommodating and they are there year after year! Management has got it right! They are a people based hotel and it is a nice place to stay. We all look forward to our return even though the event we attend is also hosted 15 miles from home! I think that says alot! Well done!

My daughter and son in law had their wedding there. It was amazing. Everything we asked for was done to the highest level. The staff were very friendly and helpful . A special mention to the bar tender, who went the extra mile and was so attentive,. Well done all Sam excellent service .

Afternoon tea for a group of 15 for a friends Hen….. stale bread on the white bread sandwiches, “bits” in the water from the dispenser. Served buffet style rather than ln afternoon tea stacked plates. Coffee and tea served in large vacuum jugs, no nice teapot or choice of teas. Generally not the best, don’t go as a group! One with a nut allergy and the staff unsure if there were nuts in anything other than the carrot cake. Gluten free offering was not good, scones needed to be replaced, we requested no fish in sandwiches…. Which arrived with fish….

Excellent from arrival to departure. An impressive looking hotel in the countryside with ample parking and plenty of space to sit outside in the gardens. The room was spotlessly clean and room service with topping up of milk and tea was good. Shower and bathroom clean. Breakfast had plenty of choices and, our choice, the cooked full English was very tasty. Service at breakfast was good too. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of staff at reception who was friendly and helpful and we chatted to her several times during our stay. All the staff we met were polite and friendly and this helped with the ambience which was welcoming.

Lovely hotel situated in the edge of Faringdon. Reviewers said 10 min walk into town but we only found it 5 mins - not a whole lot to do (unfortunately a lot of pubs had shut down) but a small collection of shops, 2 pubs and a nice church. Staff were lovely, room was nice and had a gorgeous view of the gardens. The restaurant while the food was lovely, and service super attentive, it is definitely overpriced so without the dinner credit as part of our package, we probably would have ventured elsewhere. Breakfast was a 10/10 and a must have. Lots of review complain about dirtiness / being dated which we did not find at all. Only slight negative was water pressure in the shower but definitely not that big of a problem. Would 100% return when the weather is sunnier as we want to explore the gardens.
