The Big Chair River House A Relaxing Retreat on the Toccoa River in Blue Ridge, GA “Out of all the places we have stayed around Blue Ridge, this one was the absolute best. Highly recommend, and we will be back for years to come!” — Chad “Great house! Very cozy with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Great view of the river.” — Brooke “Best cabin we have stayed in so far! Very clean, beautiful, and relaxing. Will definitely stay again!” — Beverly Nestled along the serene banks of the Toccoa River — the largest river in Georgia's Trout Fishing Capital — The Big Chair River House is your perfect getaway in the heart of the Aska Adventure Area. Ideal for families or small groups, the house accommodates up to 8 guests (4 adults and 4 children max). Only 9 miles (15 minutes) from downtown Blue Ridge, this 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home offers a tranquil escape with easy access to all the outdoor adventures and local attractions that make Blue Ridge famous. What Makes Our Home Special The Big Chair River House has been completely renovated with love, making it the perfect blend of comfort and modern charm. Our home is designed for relaxation, with cozy spaces to gather, unwind, and enjoy stunning views of the river and nature. No Pets: To maintain the best experience for all our guests, we have a no-pet policy. Security Cameras: For your safety, security cameras monitor the parking area, side entrance, and firepit area. These cameras detect motion but do not record continuously. There are no cameras inside the house. Bedrooms & Bathrooms All bedrooms are located on the upper level, creating a peaceful retreat away from the main living areas. Master Suite: King bed, private bath with shower, and access to the side deck. Second Bedroom: Queen bed with access to a half bath in the hallway. Kids’ Room: Queen-over-Queen bunk and a single-over-trundle bed, with access to the front porch. The main level includes a full bath with a tub/shower combo. Main Living Area At 1300 square feet, our home has a cozy layout designed for gathering together. The main level features a spacious living room with a large couch, chairs, a Smart TV for streaming, and a wood-burning fireplace with a blower for those chilly evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare family meals, including place settings for 8. There’s also a breakfast nook/table, and a propane gas grill for cooking outdoors. The large front porch is perfect for family meals, while the front porch swing provides a peaceful spot to enjoy the surrounding nature. Outdoor Space & River Access One of the highlights of our home is the expansive double deck (over 1300 sq. feet) offering ample seating, dining areas, and a bed swing — perfect for stargazing or simply enjoying the sounds of the river. The deck on the riverbank is the ideal spot for watching wildlife (kingfishers and deer are regular visitors) or just relaxing in nature. When you’re ready for river fun, step right down to the water! Fish off the private river deck, tube the river, or simply dip your toes in. The river’s flow varies with the seasons, so always swim at your own risk. In the evenings, gather around the large fire pit for s’mores, stargazing, or enjoying the spectacular firefly show in late spring and early summer. If the weather isn’t ideal for outdoor adventures, enjoy cozy family time indoors with games, movies, and the warmth of the fireplace. This is a fabulous place, right on the river. My son and two son in laws had a great time and stay here. The owner provided us with information about shopping, dining and activities for our stay and was always very prompt to respond to any and all questions. Would recommend this place to anyone.Lee

Great place to relax..... I have been traveling to Blue Ridge for over 30 years and have rented many properties there. I go 4-6 times a year to Fly Fish for Trout and relax. This property and location is rated in my top 3 in the area. Super clean, comfortable, amenities galore and the headwaters of the Tocca River 30 yards out the front door. We fished at the location and the river is very wadeable and fishable. Great place for families with children also. The host's were more than accommodating and made us feel at home. You can't go wrong with this rental.

Thanksgiving at the River My family ! I had a lovely stay at the river house for thanksgiving this year. We found the accommodations to be as described & were pleased at how well-stocked the kitchen was with cookware! In case it matters, the river is actually across the street from the house but the shown river deck is just a few steps away. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home at a perfect spot on the river! Everything about the home and the location was just perfect! The home had more than enough room for our family of 4 - and had everything that we needed! It had a very well stocked kitchen and lots of comfortable furniture inside and outside. It really is a perfect location on the Tocoa River - and not too far from Blue Ridge. Lots of great hiking nearby too! Definitely recommend.

Wonderful Family Vacation Our stay at Big Chair River House was amazing. From the flowing river to the family game nights to the relaxing porch swing, this has been one of my favorite family vacations. Our family reunion was this past weekend in Blue Ridge and we were able to float from my parents cabin a mile away straight to the dock here at the river house. We only experienced one issue which the host took care of right away. The kitchen was fully stocked for our cooking needs (we only needed to buy food). The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet and secure. We will be back!
