Very Good

Me and my wife did an overnight at the Circle Hotel Fairfield while attending a local event.
The service people at the front desk were very nice and helpful, and there was someone staffing it overnight. They were also training new staff while we were there, but there was always someone experienced there to ensure good service.
We had a dual-queen sized room as it was what fit our budget with the Trip.com discounts.
We stayed in building 2 which is a very short walk from the main building.
The room was spacious, basic but nicely enough decorated, and nicely clean-enough, though the toilet seat had been through some things and maintenance should have replaced it, but it wasn't broken. I let the front desk know and they said they'd have it addressed.
The room had basic amenities (2 free bottles of water was nice), coffee maker, Ironing board iiron, soap, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, tissue box, etc. A closet with a few hangers It could have used more hangers and it would have been nice to have a suitcase stand.
No dresser/drawers, and no phone.
There was a serviceable mini-fridge.
We didn't use the TV so I can't comment on it.
There wasn't a book with local businesses listed or deals for them, etc.
The front desk area has a little shop you can buy overpriced neccesities and drinks.
There's a pool out back that looks nice.
There's also a nice lounge area inside and chairs/tables to relax outside out back.
There was a decent breakfast layout, but it's mostly a variety of bread stuffs/carbs - not diabetic or keto friendly. They did have hard boiled eggs, fruit, and hot cereal packets so there are meager non-carb options. There was also cereals, sugar-sweetend yogurts, and a variety of drinks including coffee and juices. The make-it-yourself waffles were a nice touch. I would have liked bacon or sausage, but overall for the room rate it was a nice breakfast layout.
We'd ordered food at night from Seamless and got a delivery to our room door with no problem. Note: Restaurants close early in the area, but there's a nearby 24hr McDonalds that's drive-through and order-only after 10pm.
There's also a decent diner open right next to the hotel during the day. And shopping center across the road.
If you don't feel like driving, the local main street bus stops right in front of the hotel on either side of the street going in both directions. Great if you're checking out the local brewery, which also has good food and was an A+ experience.
Just make sure you have quarters for the bus. $1.75 per person gives you a 2-hour "unlimited" pass to use the local busses in either direction.
Overall, we liked our stay and would stay again in the future if the price is right. Compared to our experiences with similar hotels, under $140 was just right for our room as they had minimal business and it was nicely quiet. If they were busier, I'd expect $100 to $120 deal, and very busy, maybe less..
If I can think of anything else I'll update my review. I hope it helps!
The hotel looks a bit old, but the internal facilities are well maintained. It has a password door and a good environment. It is next to a small river and the scenery is very good. The surroundings are quite convenient and the people are very welcoming.
I called to cancel my reservation as we stare down a Cat 4 Hurricane. After being on hold for 10 minutes, was told I could cancel but would have to pay for all 4 nights. I couldn’t get there if I wanted to. All airports in south and central Florida are closed. I grew up in Fairfield and have been a patron of this hotel for over 40 years. When the front desk agent hung up on me because I used the word “hell” that was the last straw. I will never stay at this hotel again and I warn everyone that may to check your reservation for the refund policy. They have zero empathy for whatever your situation.

This hotel is a gem! Recently refreshed facilities - clean, bright and pleasant. Next to the Circle Dinner and shops of every kind! Highly recommend Craft 260 Brew Pub across the street as well for evening dining. Nice neighborhood to walk for getting steps in and close to the beach.

After my car broke down, I needed to book a room near the service station. While the large chains tried to gouge us on the last minute reservation, this hotel actually had a discount. Wasn’t expecting much as I drove by Uber to the hotel and the outside was fairly vacant when I arrived. The inside of the hotel has been redone and is airy and fresh. Although the outdoor pool was closed off season there was a lovely outside patio area to eat or relax. The room was spotless and the king bed was extremely comfortable. Roku TV and free wi-fi allowed me to pass the time. Very pleasantly surprised!!!! Would definitely recommend. Room far exceeded price point.

This hotel is a bit run down and the management and ownership seem disinterested. But nonetheless I have stayed there repeatedly with because I have had multiple kids attending Fairfield U. I considered this place the best of the bad (the choices closest to FU). After this past stay I will never stay again. I got two rooms for an extended period of time and it costs a ton. Thousands. I checked the rates about a week before I arrived and they had changed to be literally half what I was paying. I called and asked if they could adjust my rate and I was told they would, but I needed to talk to a manager to have that done. It was then I learned that getting a hold of a manager at this hotel is impossible. Literally. I left numerous messages. A comical amount. I ultimately was not successful. So so odd. I eventually sent a note to the owners, more to share this odd and frustrating experience. I got in touch with one of them on the phone briefly but ultimately didn’t come to a resolution. I could list the relatively long list of other shortcomings - the bathrooms and showers, carpet is sketch, beds are old and mattresses unsupportive….but I was on to look past this because of convenience and if I felt I was treated fairly, and appreciated. But that is not the case. So the next three year’s of visits to Fairfield I’ll be staying in Norwalk and happy to have better accommodations with a more upstanding and credible management team.

Blood spot on one pillow. Unknown brown spot on linens. They didn't care or do anything to fix the problem. Terrible experience. It should be a nice weekend to spend with my son, resulted in a nightmare. I would never return at this property or suggest to anyone.

Second visit, both times better than a very $$$$ hotel a few miles away which we also tried twice. This place is authentic---retro and old school in just the right way. We lucked into rear rooms by the pool and will always request those going forward. Great bed and linens, very clean, lots of space, other guests quietly enjoying themselves by the pool or chatting at a table overlooking it. Huge shout-out to Brian on the desk for patiently talking me through Fairfield when my GPS failed. Five stars to him, too. Summer weekends and holidays, be sure to book well in advance. They can fill up and rates may change.

I never even got a chance to stay here because of the poor customer service by whoever manages this place. Upon requesting a room block from the hotel for an event, I was offered a block for my dates and told a contract would be sent upon confirmation. I emailed my confirmation and never heard back. I emailed again, called, and was told to email the person I already emailed, and got nowhere. I can't believe how terrible this hotel is to work with. Don't try to hold any sort of event here, unless you want to be made to feel like your business isn't worth their time.

This newly renovated hotel has pleasantly spacious rooms and a pleasant staff. The location near the Marina and beaches is a plus. There is no elevator so request a ground-floor room accordingly if there are mobility restrictions and/or heavy luggage.

Extremely basic 2 story motel. Not a basic as in simple and clean but sufficient, more like lots of not quite right things. NOTE no internal hallways, all doors open right onto the parking lot or onto an outside balcony that looks down on the parking lot. No elevator so make sure you can carry your luggage or stroller or toddler up and down stairs. Very very loud street traffic noise (windows look original to building 1950s?). Very very bright parking lot lights, bright like stadium lights shining in room, (2 rooms different areas), very few electric plugs, awkwardly placed, tough to charge devices. You can hear not only the street traffic but the freeway is conveniently located maybe half a mile away and you can hear all six lanes of the freeway. Location is central to downtown Fairfield, and the diner next-door is great.
