Wingate by Wyndham Dayton - Fairborn

It was very well-placed for where I wanted to be, and the room was a decent size but there were so many little things wrong that completely spoiled it. I walked into the room and the first light by the door didn't work. Probably just needed a new lightbulb but no one on the housekeeping staff had noticed or reported it. Someone must have been in to get the room ready and it's the first thing you'd notice. The. there was the A/C which was blasting out cold air. That's why you want it to do but you also want to be able to turn down the fan, or change the temperature, but the controls didn't seem to have any effect. I'm the ned I had to switch the whole unit off. to get some relief from the freezing cold gale blowing out of it. Then I went out and wanted to put some valuables in the in-room safe, but that was locked. presumably from the last person to use it. Does someone not check this when they go in the room? Finally I wanted a bath. to relax a bit after a hot and sticky day when I'd done a lot of walking but the plug mechanism was broken, so I could do that. Finally there was no tea/coffee machine in the room. Every hotel has a coffee machine, apart from this one. Fortunately I was only there one night. Had my stay been longer, I'd have asked to be moved. I oils accept one thing going wrong but the list of things, which should have been easily identified and fixed, suggest a lack of attention to detail. I stayed at a Howard Johnson the following night, where everything was fine, and that's supposed to be he budget end of the Wyndham range.

The property is safe and clean

Very clean and welcoming place!

Clock did not work. Finally received a new one the day before I left. The staff in the dining room were vacuuming by tables as people were eating breakfast. Not good.

The room was semi-clean.

The check-in staff was non-communicative and inconsiderate. The bathroom needs a lot of work. The price was good, but there was no bargain in that.
