Castle Hotel

Very homely. Great food and nice bar. Staff very helpful and welcoming

Stopped here due to a work event local. The food and restaurant were amazing, really tasty and the atmosphere was great. Breakfast the next morning was very good and the staff very attentive. Had one of the hotel rooms upstairs, very spacious and quirky with the mix of original and contemporary. Issue I had that brought this experience down slightly was the bed was two singles with a zip link, no issue normally, however pretty clear the zip link wasn’t the best, therefore I could feel the gap which my me trying to sleep very uncomfortable. The two pillows provided were very hard and had no give, again making for subfolder ale nights sleep, the roller blind didn’t quite cover the whole of the window so light burst in quite early. Last point for me, the shower was low, I am 6ft+ and couldn’t fit under without having to bend over which made this uncomfortable and the power was weak. Sounds all negative, it really isn’t!!! These are simple fixes, fix these issues and you’ve got a great little place here. Overall, would I come back, yes, just giving an honest opinion of my experience.

Comfortable rooms, great food, and wonderful staff! All of the food was fantastic, but I am a fan of the eggs Benedict, and my goodness the sticky toffee pudding!!! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well kept and stocked. We have had several long stays recently, and looking forward to returning soon!

We had a lovely visit at the Castle Hotel. A hotel with an old quaint charm! Love the history. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Coffee and robes in the rooms were over the top. Breakfast each morning was amazing. Loved sitting out on the beautiful patio area! We look forward to many more visits!

I loved my room at the Castle Hotel! The bed was very comfortable, I slept great every night. We had a variety of coffees and teas in the room as well as wonderful cookies. The bathroom was spacious and the robes were comfy! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I hope to visit again soon.

Very comfortable room, great food, helpful staff. WiFi wasn't working which spoilt our stay. Tried messaging them before arrival but they failed to respond. Their recommendation of a local taxi firm was also disappointing. However if WiFi isn't important to you for your work etc it is a relaxed hotel.

Late post but we went as a family for Mother’s Day, and what a lovely meal with fantastic service. Great atmosphere:) made for a lovely day!.. couldn’t fault it here, been before as a couple and was amazing then to, looking forward to going back

My son and I visit every Wednesday while my daughter is at her dance class, and we love it here. Walking into a beautiful friendly atmosphere week in week out, thanks to Laura the barmaid who is always pleased to see us and is brilliant with my little boy, she also makes the best hot chocs!! Highly reccomend!

Without doubt the best nights stayover I’ve had in years. There’s lots of hotels that play tricks on you. Like, instant coffee in a Cafetière, putting you in disabled access when you're of full ability to charging you for stuff you’d expect to get for gratis, wifi, parking etc etc. When the hot water only goes luke warm, the bath is 4ft and the shower heads max height is 5ft and you’re 5ft 10. The list is endless. Frozen butters, bread that’s thinner than a tramps shoe, jeez, don’t get me started. Non of that with The Castle in Eyesfleet. Plush, decor with soft music playing in the back ground, great lighting and all smiles from their super team. Rooms are light with crisp bed linen, lanterns, coffee machines, windows that actually open, vintage fans, green plants etc. The Castle is like Soho Houses baby brother. A great menu from their relatively new young chef. He left the flat plains of Norfolk heading for the Smoke, stumbled upon The Castle in Eyesfleet and has stayed ever since. Believe me, I know a Thai curry pie sounds grim but it was pretty sensational, although the accompanied gravy boat could’ve done with a touch of coconut/curry sauce. I’d suggested it, so if you order the curry pie and it comes with the sauce, you’ve me to thank. What else can I tell you? The bar? Cocktails, craft beers and more spirits than a ******* house. Full bodied reds available by the glass. Always a bugbear when the house red is like flamin’ Vimto. Not at the Castle, the Shiraz went straight to the knees and had me aiming for bed for a great nights kip.
