The room 001, 002 & 003 were poorly located between utility garbage bins and the parking lot, claustrophobic with no toiletries for room 002 - just emthy bottles and only 10 m away from all cars farts snd huge industrial garbage bins. Also poorly ventilated with windows right at the back of the cars so we could enhale all tocic engine gases when they were running the cars. All drinks were spoiled for breakfast: milk was curdling, almond milk was sour and the apple juice was fermenting. And it has been served like this withhuge delay by an hysterical woman that was running around like a headless chicken without any common sense or basic judgement to check the quality of the products before offering to us. After 45 min she came witha bowl of boiled eggs some hot indeed but others stone cold from the fridge maybe a week old. Absolutely disgusting and disastrous. That a perfect example of careless and reckless customer service. A disgrace bothe the room and the service.

The rooms were well-appointed, but not very clean. Shower stall was not clean at all- dirt in the corners, filthy soap holders. The hot water smells like death in that town anyway, but for Christ sake - clean after the guests! The cleaner crews are hired contractors, they kick the guests out the minute the clock strikes checkout time. My friends were still loading the car and the cleaners already went into the room! Our bathroom was missing face towels and washcloths , there was nobody to ask . If you needed an extra sheet because it was too hot to sleep- again, no one to ask. The good thing was that we had a fan in the room, because it was very hot. There were two bathrobes , but one was missing a belt. I wonder is anyone cares there… Breakfast was very basic. Second floor room has seriously slanted ceiling in both, bedroom and bathroom. If you are 6’2” tall - you might want to rethink the second floor. I walked into the wall several times… very mixed with experience in that hotel.

The rooms were designed so the ceiling slanted in the bedroom and bathroom. No live person was on site, all remote. The bar area/breakfast area was tired and old and needed updating. Both side doors and main entrance were unlocked. Less quality then all the other hotels we stayed in

Chambre confortable, petit déjeuner simple, mais correct. Le personnel n’est pas très communicatif. Literie très confortable et mobilier un peu vétuste.

We arrived during a snowstorm, so anything after the drive looked appealing! I'm sure this little guesthouse once was a shining gem in its glory, but as was noted by others in their reviews, it can use a good face lift on the outside. We were in the lower level where the door opened out to where we parked our SUV. THIS WAS A MAJOR PLUS since we were living from point to point on the Ring Road tour (staying at a different place each night). Plus, with the wind and snow, moving in for the night , it was helpful to be able to have quick access to our stuff. We picked up some food at a local sandwich shop on the way in, so we were set for the night. We also had problems with getting the door keypad to "wake up" so we could see the keypad and enter our code. I ran into the main floor upstairs and not a soul was to be found. I came back down and worked on getting the keypad to revive itself and eventually (maybe it was too cold for the battery). When I heated it with my hand, the keypad revealed itself and we could get in. We had to assist other guests as they arrived. While the exterior of the building could have used some carpentry and paint touch up, the interior was acceptable albeit the smallest of the rooms we had on the trip. Maybe the main rooms upstairs were bigger, but ours was a tight squeeze and probably would be tough for generously endowed people. On the plus side, it was cozy and beds were comfortable. Toiletries and hair dryer were all there and functional and there was a fridge and a large TV which worked brilliantly and had NETFLIX for our "room picnic" evening. Breakfast was adequate and the typical Icelandic fare. A single employee was there looking woefully overworked replenishing foods and plates. She was very sweet but frustrated in having to try to keep reviving the cold keypads the next morning when we tried to reenter the rooms downstairs after a cold and windy night. I am not going to be as harsh as previous reviewers because I read the reviews of all my options when selecting my stays while I was planning my trip. I had actually expected worse based on previous reviews. It was tight, but we are thin and it was cozy for our last night before heading back to Reykjavik.

The hotel is charming, and the room clean and spacious. The included breakfast was also great. However, coming here during the last week of November, we found the entry stairs to be completely covered over with ice (super dangerous), and I mean THICK ice. I was scared climbing them even with my great hiking boots. And the roads on the way in were snowy. To check in, we had to use a physical phone at reception to call an operator and get the key code to our room. That was easy enough. Check-out was easy too (you just leave by the deadline). If I had to do it over again, I'd stay here during warmer months but in winter months I'd stay in the city itself. The roads/ conditions were too precarious.

We booked this room with a guide to Iceland tour, we were here around 4 PM. There were no workers in the building whatsoever. Mind you, the signs every where say “if you can’t find an employee for help one can always be reached” a lie. Our room code did not work, so we had to call a helpline (since you couldn’t call someone who worked there) to explain that we cannot get into our room. They told us that our room was a different room than what our email confirmation said. The new room had two twin beds and smelled like a dirty toilet! That’s not what we booked. We were supposed to be in a separate and private room with a single queen. I’ll also add that this is our honeymoon…. Separate beds don’t cut it. We spent two hours on the phone with an agency number that the hotel gave us to contact for emergencies. We could not get into our room. They tried putting us in another room, but couldn’t get the code to work on that room then the lock box told us it was almost out of battery and needed a new lock battery. The number we kept calling that the hotel gave us for help could not get a hold of anyone who worked in the hotel, which is ridiculous and not an actual hotel line then. And my husband ran back-and-forth between the building we were supposed to be in this one trying new codes, but the agency was giving him over and over again for an hour. We finally got settled into a room after 2 hours, went to take a shower and the shower drain wouldn’t drain, the whole bathroom floor flooded before we could even realize. Our cloths got soaked and long with some of our things. We haven’t even reported the bathroom problem because it would take 2 more hours to get anyone to help and we just wanted to sleep at that point. This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had and we are here for our honeymoon. Do not stay at this hotel they have no care to come out and help their guest who are staying here. They refuse to answer phones. They refuse to help and they cannot book rooms correctly.
