Absolutely stunning location, spotlessly clean throughout including the bathroom. Every necessity catered for including fresh milk in the fridge for making the selection of teas/coffee in room. Staff welcoming, professional, polite and attentive, nothing too much trouble.

Lovely hotel, great place to catch up with friends and enjoying a walk at nearby countryside/River Thames. Good food at fair prices particularly in that area.

Been here many times and never disappointed. Love their retro quirky touches ie Smegg fridge
And Kettle.
With the hotel being in a 5⭐️ Location andq l the high standard accommodation I really believe it would be worth them investing in Air Conditioningloinnńbğ nnnnnq.
It was 28df and the room only had a tiny window
So no air and the fan they supplied just circulated hot air around the room. Plus the fan was so noisy. But that is my only complaint.

The room was lovely, reception and maintenance staff very helpful but The Coppa Club was a total disaster. I had to get up and leave and drive to a fish and chip shop on my last night. Similar experiences the previous nights and desperately slow service at breakfast even though they weren’t busy. They really need to fix that restaurant as it’s letting the whole place down.

THE GREAT HOUSE It's my favourite place when it comes to a hotel. The rooms are very clean and pleasant, I stayed a few nights and the housekeeping team was very helpful and friendly, my room was with a beautiful view of the river. The people who work at The Great House are exceptional. I had the opportunity to talk to the general manager Paulina. I must say, she is a big bonus for the company when it comes to her work ethic and approach to customers. The lunch is always very tasty, so I don't change places when it comes to hotels or restaurants. I recommend it, try it and you won't regret it.

I booked a 2-night stay at The Great House, Coppa Club in Sonning for my husband’s birthday, carefully planning a special weekend with a distillery tour, restaurants, and other activities. I spent hours researching and organising everything, aiming for a memorable celebration. Just three hours after booking — at 9:45pm — I received a call informing me that the hotel was overbooked and our stay cancelled. The receptionist said she was “happy to cancel your payment,” offering no alternative or solution. Later, the only follow-up was an automated email saying, “BOOKING CANCELLED — WE INVITE YOU TO MAKE A RESERVATION IN THE FUTURE.” This lack of empathy and personal attention was incredibly upsetting, especially on a bank holiday weekend when options are limited. It caused unnecessary stress and disappointment, forcing me to start planning at the last minute and losing a whole evening. Sadly, based on this experience, I cannot recommend The Great House to anyone seeking considerate, reliable service or a worry-free stay.
