Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa

Arrived around 5:30, twin room in the main house - absolutely beautiful, there’s nothing I can fault about the room. Evening meal was ok, expensive but understandable for the setting. It was disappointing that I had to chase up a drink twice and we were left towards the end, no one came over and dessert plates not cleared until I got up to ask someone. Seemed they were all too busy setting up for breakfast. Definitely keep at least one staff looking after guests whilst others set up. Been there, done it…. Pool was closed for refurbishment but I’d emailed about this as we were staying for a birthday and that’s where they upgraded our room. Really nice of them to do, always worth asking. Breakfast was brilliant, huge selection, chefs visible cooking more English breakfast items. Again, can’t fault it. Overall a really good stay. Wish we could have done another night rather than staying somewhere else (which was not at the same standards whatsoever!) would love to visit again when the facilities are open. Lots of steps, be mindful! There is a buggy service if you can’t manage the steps.

Everything was tip top from the beautiful location, the bed and bathrooms, the food, the overall cleanliness and the brilliant staff. However, there were one or two small downsides. The first was only for some, the fact that the pool was out of action and will be for three months. The second was the location of the restaurant. Regardless of which of the three premises you were staying at, access entailed quite a bit of stair climbing.

Afternoon tea for two gift experience at Rutland Hall Hotel was absolutely excellent. Lots to eat, tasty sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche, cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam. We were able to put the four scones, jam and clotted cream in a supplied food container, to bring home. Service was excellent 10/10. Special mention for Amy and Nicola for making sure it was truly a lovely experience. Thank you very much.

We stayed in a Lakeview room with balcony which, as it says, gave lovely views across part of the lake. It was clean, comfortable and contained all the facilities that you expect with water replenished daily. Cupboard space is a little tight but manageable. Food throughout our stay was excellent as were staff in all departments. The climb to the restaurant is very steep (there are options provided) and requires a walk outside so an umbrella or raincoat in the room is advisable. We were not attending the resort but using as a base and it was ideal for that and we will return

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. When we booked it, we hoped for a fine hotel. In the event, it was far more - a whole resort ! Our room was very comfortable, clean and well serviced. All staff were excellent in our treatment. The restaurant and bar areas were great, staff were outstanding. The only slight criticism was that insufficient vegetables were included in the main meals. But a really enjoyable break - thank you.

We had the most amazing day for our wedding on 31/8/24 at Rutland Hall Emmie was amazing and nothing was too much bother. The staff on the wedding day were fabulous everything went seamlessly Kylie was brilliant making sure everyone was where they should be Raj was so helpful and friendly. The food was amazing so many lovely comments from our guests We stayed all weekend and the staff were great Friday night organising an area so we could all be together. We had the most wonderful day thank you to you all

This was an enjoyable stay in beautiful surroundings however it was let down by the Sunday dinner experience. There isn’t much choice for the dinner but It wasn’t a problem as beef was on the menu only to be told after ordering that they had ran out of beef so I had to have chicken instead which I don’t see as a Sunday roast. We tried ordering mustard 3 times but it never came. Food is good quality let down by service and incompetence. Gave feedback to the hotel but had no response

Beware, check your booking! Having booked a lakeside view room, not unreasonable to expect t a view of the lake? Well, the managemt of this hotel disagree! No lake view, but same premium price! There is definitely an air of being misled and the room I was allocated definitely misrepresented I’d be interested to know if other guests here have experienced the same difficulty as I intend seeking advice from a consumer lawyer Beware, check and double check your booking to,ale sure you get the room you booked and paid for Iforome, will not be back, I would advise others toavoid also

Attended a wedding and this is a superb venue with outdoor wedding seating with fabulous views. From the start we were welcomed by the very helpful reception team and our cosy double was well presented and very clean. The food and wedding organisation was amazing and Kylie was professional and friendly at all times. The food was so delicious and at breakfast the next morning we were given such a warm welcome by the breakfast host - she was so lovely. In all our experience was that this is a much loved hotel which is very well looked after, nothing looked jaded or tired. We recommend a stay here.
