Excellent service from the lovely gentleman at reception. He was welcoming and informative. Room was clean with everything we needed and well serviced. We had a cocktail in the bar before we went to bed and it was perfect!

On booking the gentleman advised we would be upgraded to superior on arrival if he hadn't sold out of that category. Despite being the same gentleman this was not offered and we were given a standard double sea view. The hotel only had half a dozen guests the room was small and basic but ok. Bed comfortable. Bathroom tiny. Larger people wouldn't be able to use it! Quite disappointed.

I booked two Premium afternoon teas as my Nan is soon to be 99, unfortunately there was a mistake with the booking date, I spoke to the guy at the desk ( as I'd somehow booked a week later! ) and he was extremely helpful, and said he could still book us in if we came back in around 30-40mins. The afternoon tea was really lovely, and my Mum and Nan loved the addition of the Prosecco too. The guy could not do enough for us, even putting the heating on as my Nan was cold. I'd thoroughly recommend this, and I'd like to thank the guy who made it so special. We are also thinking about booking again soon, and hopefully try the sausage rolls too.

We stayed in a “superior” room let’s start with the positives. Staff were polite and the bed was large and comfy. Now the nitty gritty. Hotel seriously requires updating, it’s tired and dated. The cleaning team need some training with ring marks from drinks on the shelf above the bed (no bedside tables) the grout around the shower is mouldy and the shower has no power at all. Stains on the bedroom furniture put very grim thoughts to mind and the burns on the carpet show that not everyone is following the no smoking policy. This hotel is LOUD!. We paid for late check out to have a lay in after attending an event, however the breakfast room plays loud music from 7am, the doors are slamming and the chance of sleeping in was impossible. When we left we wished we had saved some money and stayed at the Premiere Inn. We will not be returning.

We came in for afternoon tea and cocktails for my father’s birthday. We were met with a warm welcome. We started with the cocktails which were fantastic. Then the afternoon tea with Prosecco which we thoroughly enjoyed. The gentleman serving us provided excellent, attentive service. He was clearly passionate about his work and made us feel very welcome. We look forward to returning soon!

Absolute gem.Lots of history.Clean throughout. Lovely room with sea view.Plenty of storage.Very friendly helpful staff ,Nazeen was always there with a smile. Had a cocktail in the super bar and it was delicious. . I would advise booking car parking space,as limited.

Great stay whilst doing the South West Coast path - the hotel is well located, the room was clean and had an excellent shower, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. Breakfast is served from 7:30 even on Sunday, which is great if you want to get off to an early start.

I think he was one of the managers, he was delightful.
