Very rude receptionist, maybe a job in hospitality is NOT for her,not made to feel welcome at all,the room was not the best, marks on duvets cover, stains on towels,if you ask for extra sugar/tea/coffee for your room and the woman has to move 2 feet to get them then get ready for the glare from her. When we asked about if they served dinner we were told abruptly NO! The morning we were due to checkout at 11am,and hour before the time the cleaner entered our room without knocking and walked in. Not worth the money and won't be returning, shame as the hotel has a lot of potential with the right people running it Anyone thinking of booking our advice would be try somewhere else

We tried to stay here but it wasn’t available. Decided to call in for a drink anyway as we’d enjoyed the same on our previous visit to Evesham. We arrived at 8.20pm, got a couple of drinks and sat in the courtyard. I lit a nice cigar up and all was very pleasant. Went back to the bar just before 9pm to get another drink and were refused service as they’d already cashed up! Why not inform customers that the bar will be closing at a certain time? I’m glad we didn’t stay here in the end. The place we did was much better. Very poor customer service. The very miserable lady serving would be better off getting a job on Mars!

A disappointing stay here. The “superior” room that we’d booked was rather small and dingy, the closer we looked, the more dust we found on surfaces everywhere. There should have been a hairdryer in the room but there wasn’t, however, I was grumpily given one at reception when I went to question this. There were two shower heads in the cubicle, one fixed high one and one adjustable lower one on a pole, but this one didn’t work at all, so at just 5 ft tall, trying to wash my hair was like standing out in the rain. Grouting dirty, window dirty with mould in the corners. The heated towel rail didn’t work, the receptionist tried to explain the hotel plumbing system but it was quite obvious that she didn’t understand it either! Breakfast nicely cooked though not very hot. We wrote to the hotel and just received a standard letter in return. Housekeeping at this hotel needs serious improvement. Wouldn’t advise a stay here.

After checking out hotels in Evesham I chose this hotel as I could walk across the bridge and down the high street for a business meeting at 09:30 the next morning. The public areas felt a bit tired and there was no restaurant onsite. I was a little wary of the room but it was a single room that had been refurbished and it seemed like I was the first person to have used the room. The bathroom was newly returned with excellent shower, washbasin and toilet. I liked the colourful privacy window and tiles in the shower are. Unfortunately the sole staff member i saw was really miserable and refused to engage in conversation. Despite telling her I had no car she insisted I sign into the device for parking. When I question if it was necessary as I had no car , she repeated her instructions as if I was stupid. Breakfast was ok.

The hotel is next to the river and in an ideal location to cross the nearby bridge into the centre on foot. We were checked in by a very nice lady, who explained about the hotel, the keys and arrangements over Christmas. Initially, we were impressed with the room, although it was on the hot side. Two double beds and lots of space, it was clean. An overhead fan above the beds, and a tower fan and an additional heater in the room. Hospitality tray in the room, and TV. Unfortunately, the bathroom lets the hotel down. The sink-area and toilet itself were clean. Unfortunately, the toiletbrush still had 'DNA' from previous guests clinging to the bristles. Why hotels do not invest in covered toiletbrushes, I will never understand. It was a shower over the bath, and the shower-side was dirty. The showerhead was covered in dirt, which is most likely the reason why the shower had intermittent bursts of very cold and tepid water. At best, the water was lukewarm. And yes, cleaning the showerhead may well resolve that issue, as we had that once ourselves. The shower was switched on by what initially looked like an old soap dispenser, which was dirty. There was a thick line of mould behind the dirty bath-taps. There were signs of mould along the ceiling and top of the walls. The grouting between the tiles was dirty and cracked. They do leave plenty of toiletries to use, though. Our breakfast was nice and freshly cooked. There was also a choice of cereals and other items available. I think on the second night they forgot to switch off the heating overnight, as the radiator was still hot at 10.30pm. I tried switching it off in the room, but it didn't work. We slept with the window open and the overhead fan on for part of the night. If they sort out the bathroom(s), we would stay again, but for now, we will choose to stay elsewhere in future.

I booked into the Northwick for one night. I chose a more expensive room (£128 for the night with breakfast) and because there was a restaurant. The room was very cold, reception staff explained there was no heating in the rooms, was given a portable heater to carry upstairs. Later told that the restaurant was closed as there was no chef. Did check the website the night before travelling down from Liverpool and there was no mention of this on the website so had to go out and get a takeaway to eat in the room. The room was very cold as it had high ceilings, so it didn’t warm up. The following morning there was no cooked breakfast as again no chef. Again, this was not disclosed when the booking was made. When I contacted the hotel, I was sent a very dismissive email, I got no reply to my response. I will not be booking this hotel again for other work colleagues. I am so disappointed in the Northwick, as there is very little choice of places to stay in the town.

We arrived at the hotel and the receptionist was very helpful and chatty and gave us good directions to our room. On opening the door to our room we were very surprised the room was very large and bright, lovely white bedding and a very comfy bed. The towels in the bathroom were white and fluffy very nice. We had a lovely weekend stay here for my birthday and my retirement we will definitely return.

Writing this review to prevent other travelers having to experience this place. We booked 1 night on 8th September following attending our friends Funeral. It was a hot day, and our room was unbearable. There were no windows that could be effectively opened, the curtains had not been closed (ceiling to floor), and the temperature was akin to a sauna. It felt like being in a tropical greenhouse. We went to dinner thinking it would cool down through the evening, but it remained intolerable. At 9pm we made the decision to move hotels as we would not be able to suffer the temperature. Actually it would have made us poorly. Speaking to the manager on the following Sunday, she understood, agreed the room was ridiculous and confirmed a refund of at least 50%, although said likely more after she spoke with the Owners. Over a month later, continuous chasing, assurances that it was being processed. A message on *********** to say, we would receive nothing back. The customer service experience is really poor. A significantly sad day for us, exasperated further by this awful place.
