Sleep Inn & Suites Near Liberty Place I-65

I chose Sleep Inn at Liberty Place because I had an early morning meeting in Evergreen and I wanted to avoid leaving Tuscaloosa at 5am to get there on time. I got the proximity I was looking for, but not much else. The doors to the hotel do not open automatically, which is inconvenient given that the luggage carts are unwieldy and I am walking with a cane. I don't know how someone in a wheelchair would actually get into the hotel if they came in after hours. The front desk clerks were very pleasant and efficient at check-in and check-out. The lobby furniture is discolored and worn. The signs in the elevator have clearly been there a long time, since they are peeling off the wall a little. Light fixtures and other decor items in my room were tarnished/rusted. One of the electrical outlets in the room doesn't work. The fan blew continuously, even after I turned the temperature up. However, increasing the temperature of the blowing air meant that the room felt damp. I did not feel comfortable removing my shoes in the room, and skipped my exercise routine Thursday morning (I am recovering from knee surgery), as lying on the floor seemed inadvisable. The surface of the main furniture console was spotted and looked and felt dirty. The desk chair was dirty underneath and did not adjust for height, so the work space was not comfortable for me. The door handle on one of the main console cabinets was broken. One of the drawers continuously slid open on its own. The frame of the bathroom mirror was damaged. The toilet lid and seat were raised when I arrived, and there was a ring in the toilet. The bed linens were fresh and clean, as were the towels. The accent color on the wall and the photo montage over the bed were very pleasant. The faux leather cover for the box springs was dirty and worn. Overall, I don't feel I got value for the $117/night charged. I am returning to the area in two weeks for several days, and I have already made other accommodation arrangements.

Not the worst, not the best

Grim. A hotel that has not seen investment in decades. The AC flooded the carpet, but failed to cool the room. The one and only lift broke. Makes Schitts Creek Rose Motel feel like the Ritz. Breakfast stopped at 9am, so we missed that. It was probably a blessing. The pool was clean and there’s a fair Shrimp restaurant next door.

This hotel is disgusting!!¡!! there were roaches in the room ! tub was not clean, I will never st here again!!! Staff dysfunctional. Unprofessional.. very bad experience wouldn't stay here ever again.. very dissatisfied although management tried to help wasn't enough. Children was running around all night loud running up and down the Halls all outside smoking at the front door

I still feel nasty after being inside that building! Most disgusting place I have ever ALMOST stayed at! We left after carrying everything upstairs it was so nasty! Every inch of this place was filthy. From Lobby to the room. Feces all over the bathroom,walls and on the tissue box on counter. There was some sort of liquid matter all over bathroom walls. Heavy odor of acetone throughout halls. Pizza crust and much more in hallways. Comforter was white and filthy. This entire place hasnt even been vacuumed in a very long time. I was seriously afraid to touch anything. Do NOT stay here!

Room was clean and adequate. Property was ok but could have been a little better. We usually stay at the Hampton Inn and they are a four in my book so this place would be a three. Would stay there again but the price should be a little lower for what you get.

The staff were were incredibly gracious, the room was spacious, clean and well-maintained. Clean linens, comfy bed. Having experienced many a free hotel breakfast, this one went above and beyond. A real bright spot on I-65. Don’t walk, run, if you need a place to stay in Evergreen!

This was our first and likely last stay at a Sleep Inn. We paid $160 for a room which should not have been more than $80. The elevator was broken. The TV had only a few channels. Once the sun went down, the quiet road the hotel was located on became a neighborhood race track. Or so it sounded! To round it all off, the front desk staff was worthless. Keep driving. You can do better.

Elevator broken, waffle maker broken, juice machine broken, pool broken. Bathroom light switch broken.Bathroom was disgusting. Room was no better. Furniture was rotted and destroyed. Carpet is stained. Dirty linen was left at our door entire weekend. People are smoking ********* on every floor. Nobody cares. The entire lobby and hallways wreak of it. Huge party in the parking lot until early morning. These jack wagons tried to charge us $200 a night When we had reserved for less than 90. We had to claw and plead and they would not honor the rate they gave us. Thankfully our credit card company will reject these charges.
