K'Gari Beach Resort

Nice hotel overall, bit old exterior

Whilst everything was fairly reasonable, the food was overpriced rubbish. It was more akin to the local greasy Joe's and $35 bucks for 2 small sized peices of Snapper and 2 bucks worth of Salad did not impress at all. Staff were friendly and helpful, but they prices were outrageous for the standard. Which was overcooked and very disappointing. You might get away with it from unsuspecting overseas visitors, but I'm sorry to say it was crap. I guess when you have zero competition you better cop it or never book there again. If i was an international tourist I would not think anything food related was more than mediocre at best. The room rate was fair priced, however dining was nothing short of highway robbery. I accept the distance to deliver supply's definitely added to the pricing, it fell way short of ones expectations of a resort level quality. $35 bucks for a meal that resembled Bain Marie cheap pub grub did not by any means cut the mustard. It will be one and only time we ever stay there. Feeling ripped off, does not inspire retention or return guests. Cheap 3 star venue that costs the equivalent of much more, renders this tired resort 3 stars at best. Most visitors to any of these types of places have expectations of a higher standard. Get the food right and pricing becomes a non issue. Daniel Thomas

Nice rooms , very clean and spacious , no AC or heating in the rooms , internet connection only in the main area , dining options very good and good value for price

I stayed here for one night as part of my K’gari 3 day explorer tour. The room was HUGE for 1 person. The bed was really comfy, and it was nice to fall asleep to some tv after a long day of touring owing to the tv set up allowing you to watch from bed. Cam on reception helped me out with a few glitches that were easily solved with excellent service. The highlight for me was dinner at their restaurant, along with the sunrise views a short walk away on the beach. I’m coeliac and dinner was not only coeliac safe but also the best meal I’ve had on my Queensland holiday so far. I highly recommend the crispy barramundi on the menu. The service at dinner was also excellent. Other than camping there aren’t many other options for accommodation on the eastern side of K’gari. The beauty of the east is a must visit, and doing it in a rush in 1 day would be the pits. Do yourself a favour and stay at least 1 night on the east so that you can enjoy a sunrise and see its beauty at a more luxurious pace.

The bed was very comfortable, we took our own pillows so couldn’t rate the pillows there. It was very clean, you do hear the banging of doors next door but no other noises from other guests. It wasn’t crowded with a lot of other guests which was great for us. Overall a great stay.

Our stay at the Fraser Island resort was disappointing, despite the island’s beauty. The reservation and check-in processes were adequate, but accommodations were substandard, with outdated beds, missing amenities like microwaves, and poor cleanliness. Staff appeared stressed, with inconsistent service, empty breakfast stations, and inadequate bar skills. Pricing was exorbitantly high, far exceeding expectations, with non-functional facilities like rusted air pumps. The resort fell short of expected standards, requiring significant updates and staff training. We would not return or recommend it, as the experience did not justify the premium costs.
