Het is een net hotel. Het ligt een paar kilometer van de autobaan en ongeveer 750 m van het gezellige centrum. Dat is goed te wandelen langs het ernaast lopende riviertje. Onze kamer (Standard Zimmer Alb, nr. 414) was meer dan voldoende ruim. We zaten onder het schuine dak hetgeen op het hoogste punt wel zo’n 4 m hoog was. De bedden waren prima. De badkamer zag er netjes uit met een voldoende grote douchecabine. Alles is onberispelijk schoon in het hotel. De airco deed zijn werk goed. Dat was ook wel nodig bij temperaturen van 30°C +. Het ontbijt was uitstekend en met liefde samengesteld uit kwalitatief zeer goede ingrediënten (kaas, vleeswaren, zalm, eitjes). Het ontbijt is in het weekeinde tot 11:00 uur. Geen gehaast dus. Alles wordt ook de hele tijd netjes nagevuld. De best redelijk grote gratis parkeerruimte voor het hotel was echter helemaal vol i.v.m. een bruiloftsfeest in het bij het hotel horende ernaast gelegen restaurant. Zodoende moesten we onze auto in de parkeergarage plaatsen (€12). We zullen hier in de toekomst zeker weer een tussenstop maken.

Zum Besuch des diesjährigen Champagnerfestes wählten wir das Hotel Watthalden und waren mit unserer Wahl zufrieden.. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt, erhielten eine kleine Einweisung (Frühstückszeiten, etc.) und konnten direkt unser absolut ruhiges Zimmer im dritten Stock, zum Wald hin, beziehen. Wir fanden ein sehr bequemes Bett vor, das einen wirklich angenehmen Schlaf ermöglichte. Ein Schrank mit ausreichendem Stauraum war vorhanden. Das Bad hatte eine ausreichende Größe und war mit den notwendigen Amenities ausgestattet. Gestört hat uns der Teppichboden, wohlwissend, das im Hotel Hunde erlaubt sind. Auch die Verdunkelung (es sind nur Raffrollos vorhanden) könnte besser sein. Das Frühstücksbuffet war vollkommen ausreichend und gut. Trotz „Stoßzeit“ hatten wir kein Problem einen Platz zu finden. Einen kostenfreien Parkplatz fanden wir direkt vor dem Hotel. Vom Hotel läuft man gute zehn Minuten, bis in die Altstadt.
