Overall, we enjoyed our stay but found the resort quite dated with exceptionally poor wifi and very small rooms. Staff was friendly and the location was very scenic and convenient.

We came out to Estes Park for our cousin's wedding and had an amazing stay at the Historic Crags Lodge. The lodge is a beautiful, historic building that has been moderately updated to the modern day without loosing any of it's charm. When we arrived, we were greeted by a staff member at the counter who invited us to walk around the lodge and let us have access to the pool while our room was being prepared. The view from the pool area is gorgeous and perfect for just laying out and enjoying the fresh, mountain air, and the pool was pristine. The room itself was cozy, clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything you could possibly need for a stay. This may seem silly, but it was one of the few hotels I'd stayed in that came with paper towels. There were plenty of windows for air flow and multiple fans provided. Overall our stay was perfect, and I would more than recommend the lodge in the future!

Luckly it was only a 1-night stay, we booked this hotel after reviewing previous feedback and must have caught them on a bad day! Check in was OK but then we tried to make a reservation in the restaurant for that evening. We were told that the restaurant was fully booked and as it is a ‘third party concern’ you have to speak to them directly. We did and were told that they were fully booked but they would get in touch if a table came available due to a cancellation. We were also informed that we were directly under the restaurant and we might have some noise until 21:30hrs when it closes for the evening. And if we get hot we can open a window and there are fans in the wardrobe. No assistance with luggage even though our so-called studio was downstairs and the lift ‘doesn’t go downstairs’. There is also a strange sulpha smell down stairs on the corridor but luckily this did not permeate into the room. The room was dark and dated with chips on the bath and on the toilet seat along with rusty hinges on the door. The room as predicted was hot you can have either the window open or the fan on however you can’t have both as the noise from the fan would mask any intruder getting in via the open window as we are on the ground floor! The bed is old a very squeaky and every time one of us moves it sounds like you are trying to squash a chip monk, this resulted in no sleep. Back to the dining problem now – When we left for a lovely off-site meal at 18:30hrs walking past the empty restaurant apart from a small wedding party. We thought this was odd as we were told they were fully booked. When we returned at 20:00hrs we saw a quarter full restaurant. We again enquired why we had not been contacted as they clearly were no longer fully booked and we then had another excuse that the restaurant was short staffed due to the wedding and they had therefore closed many of their tables for the evening. We are seasoned travellers that are used to historic properties and paying for a certain standard. We had received six email communications from this hotel in the last 9 months from when we booked and at no time did any communication state that we needed to reserve a table at the restaurant. Overall a below average stay at its very best and far below what others seem to have experienced in the past.

My stay at The Crags Lodge was wonderful! The lodge had a cozy, homey atmosphere and was conveniently located close to both downtown Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. A special shout-out to Rose, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing mountain getaway!

We love staying at the Lodge. You have this wonderful historic feeling in the mountains while staying in a clean room that has all the modern amenities you need. The staff is always welcoming. The wifi is iffy, but we are there to get away so it's not as important to us. The ease of access to town and RMNP is great.

The accommodations were very spacious and the staff was very helpful in answering questions. The lodge is awesome and I wish I had taken more time to explore.

We had the beautiful days at Estes Park. The Lodge was perfect for us with a handy location near the Sweet Basilico Restaurant and quick access to town and The Rocky Mountain National Park. Our room was fine. Service was helpful. The pool and hot tub were clean. They have grills you can use by the pool. I wish they had faster Internet and filtered water.

This was a very nice place to stay. The hotel staff were great, but the best part of the experience was dinner in the beautiful dining room. We enjoyed a beautiful pasta and beef dish, flatbread and empanadas. The service was excellent, friendly and welcoming. I booked this stay through VRBO and I expected the room to be much larger, as I booked for myself and a couple. It was comfortable enough but know that the area with the couch that pulls out to a bed is not very big.

We were here for a wedding which was held at the lodge. The service was good and the lodge was well suited for a wedding, rehearsal dinner and reception. Atmosphere is rustic, vintage. Beautiful views of the mountains between the trees. Small deck outside of bar to stand and enjoy the view. You can see The Stanley Hotel from here. The lodge is nicely situated in the side of a mountain above the town of Estes. Rooms have a kitchenette, seating area and separate bedroom. Overall the lodge is well maintained. The pool area has a beautiful view of the park. There is a grassy area here where the ceremony was held. The jacuzzi was functioning well. Dinner only is served here. On one side of the hotel you have mountain and Estes town views, on the other side you’re facing the parking lot and the side of a mountain, to the right some views. Pricing is higher and there are resort fees along with various taxes. Very peaceful here.
