The location is excellent, with easy access to amenities. Guests loved the comfortable rooms with patios and jet tubs. The front desk service and staff were exceptional.

The good - Front desk people were great! Ember was fantastic but still overpriced. Not so Good - Grounds and exterior of resort are not maintained very well, if at all. Room service trays outside of multiple rooms all day without being collected. When requesting extra washcloths from housekeeping lady outside our room, she only had 2 washcloths on her cart and didn't offer to bring us any later. Cobwebs all over the deck. For $600 a night, this resort should be a well oiled machine, but is not.

The 2 Queen Bed room was average. The room was clean, as expected. The shower was nice although a little more water pressure would have improved the shower experience. The linens were likely bamboo rather than crisp cotton and therefore surprisingly wrinkled and ill fitting. There was a nice balcony where we sat each day and evening when at the room. The window and sliding door trim and screens were filthy with dirt and cob webs; this might have been "expected" in early April but not in the midst of the season! Details! The room for half the price would have been fine but at over $400 per night...not a good value!

I am writing this review from my bed in this hotel at 1:30 in the morning—my third night of largely sleepless tossing and turning. I figured, “Hey, why not use the time productively and get the attention of hotel ownership and management?” I am going to ignore the fact that the WiFi is so slow that I’ve had to use my phone as my access point throughout my stay. (Complaining got me nowhere.) I want to vent about one issue: the bedding. I want to speak directly to the people considering this hotel who care about the bed and bedding in their rooms, those planning on sleeping. (If you don’t, move on—nothing to see here.) The first thing I noted when I entered the room was that my Queen-sized bed had a two-foot-wide faux fur ***** on top of the duvet cover near the foot of the bed. Is that supposed to convey luxury or something? It usually winds up on the floor and I’m sure that housekeeping isn’t cleaning them between guests—and how would they be cleaned anyway? I would love to know what hotel management thinks the messaging/purpose of these faux pelts might be other than collecting germs. I shoved that in a closet. But the real problem is the bedding: the duvet and pillows. For those of you unfamiliar with the term “duvet,”it’s a type of cover you sleep under. It is supposed to be a light, insulating bed cover which is used instead of a heavy blanket, and it is contained inside a washable cover. The operative word here is “light.” I would estimate that the duvet on my bed weighed around 35 pounds. Did you ever kick the covers off on a warm night? Well, you won’t kick these. It would take an NFL punter to do it. If you’re used to normal covers that you can turn under, as from your back to your side or vice-versa, forget about it. You’ll fight to move under this hotel’s version of a duvet; you’ll be pressed into the mattress. I know that some people who suffer from anxiety prefer the security of a weighted blanket. If that’s you, then good news(!): if you choose this hotel you won’t have to bring your own! That brings me to the pillows. I’m particular about pillows: I think they should offer some support for my head and neck—I’m crazy that way. I’ve stayed in many, many—way too many—hotels in my life. I’d have to say the pillows in this hotel were as cheap and formless as any that I can recall. They are just some stuffing in a bag—nothing you would ever use in your home. I should have taken the hint when I saw four pillows on my Queen-sized bed. What that supposed to convey luxury like the faux fur pelt on top of the duvet? Not when the pillows cost about two bucks each. I asked for a foam pillow and the manager said that he had a tempurpedic pillow but couldn’t lend it to me. (He actually said that.) It’s now 2:15 in the morning and my plan is to watch YouTube videos until I pass out with the duvet on the floor and my four pillows scattered about. Of course, I won’t be coming back. Here’s

Stayed for three nights as part of a package from the UK. Our room had recently been remodelled to a high standard with a lovely view over the lake. However, we had reserved a King accessible room and were given a Queen. The air conditioning unit was very noisy when on and then turned itself off over night making the room very warm. The other issue was the bedding. Clearly the mattress had a waterproof covering of some kind making sleep uncomfortable. The hotel should note that not everyone with mobility issues is incontinent. The other issue was remodelling works in nearby rooms. We weren’t advised of this prior or on arrival. Works started early around 8am. This would have been a bigger issue if our sleep quality hadn’t been so affected by the bedding and warm room. The staff were friendly but the service was very slow in the bar and there was some inconsistency with the cocktails also. We were also surprised at how early the bar closed, 9pm. Breakfast was included but finished at 9am which I find way too early when you’re on vacation. Overall, good but improvements needed for the price!

The staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. The restaurant staff were amazing and the food was very good. The bar staff were fun, attentive and made amazing drinks! The staff at the spa were fantastic and our experience was very relaxing and great quality for the price. Our lake view room was wonderful and we had an amazing views of the lake and mountains-it was very very comfortable with all the amenities..

This is a very nice hotel with exceptional staff and a great restaurant. Our lakeside room gave us a fabulous view of the snow capped peaks of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Parking is extremely convenient. Our check-in by Maximillian was friendly and comprehensive. The Embers Restaurant provided a very memorable meal with the wait staff again providing 5 star service. I highly recommend the venison and buffalo entrees. It’s a four minute drive to downtown Estes Park. I’ve been to nicer facilities but have never had better service. But make sure to get a lakeside room and eat at Embers to make the stay truly memorable.

I booked a lakeside balcony view room, but when I arrived, I was told I’d need to pay an extra $100 to actually get that room. I understand this might have been due to a third-party booking issue, but it still felt misleading and disappointing — especially since the view was the main reason I chose this resort. The breakfast was also far below expectations: just coffee, a granola bar, and an apple. For a place calling itself a resort, that’s really underwhelming. Even budget hotels like Holiday Inn offer a full hot breakfast. The location is beautiful, but overall, the experience didn’t match the price. I expected better communication and more value for the money.
