Hyatt Place Coconut Point

Okay but be warned that there are renovations going on and there is a lot of dust. They put down cardboard over the entry carpet and the one elevator is filled with dust from the workers.

Hotel is located in a busy area of Ft Myers but there is plenty of shopping and chain restaurants nearby. The parking lot was well lit w/ plenty of parking and and parking was complementary. Our room was about the size of a large hotel room but was sectioned/partially divided so that it felt more like a Jr. Suite. The room was clean, well lit, the A/C worked well, and we had plenty of hot water. The king bed and pillows were VERY soft. If you're used to the new approach to hotel mattresses (ie newish Marriotts/Hiltons) this is in keeping with that. Both of us had a bit of hard time getting comfortable and we woke up several times but neither of us had backaches in the morning. There was a mini-fridge but no microwave. The breakfast area off the lobby is small but clean and well cared for. The selection looked nice but the eggs and sausage were kind of hard to get down which is saying something for me. Coffee was plentiful and fresh. The staff were all friendly, professional, and helpful. Cons? There was construction going on which I didn't see disclosed when I booked the room. The construction dust was plentiful and prevalent-especially in a couple of the stairwells-so if you have dust allergies you may want to call the front desk before you book. The pool and jacuzzi were locked up so I can't give any input on that. The workout room was smallish but had 4-5 cardio machines including a peloton and a nice selection of dumbbells. There were only two of us there when I was using it so it was fine but it would have felt cramped with only a couple more people. It was not air conditioned (perhaps just a construction thing) and did have an odd, hard to place unpleasant smell. Maybe really old moth balls? On the whole it was fine hotel if we were staying for a max of 2-3 nights. The mini-fridge , not having a microwave, and ultra-soft mattress & pillows would make it difficult for more than a night or two. But tbh, we're used to long term stay hotels like Residence Inns, Stay-Bridge Suites, etc. If you're a couple visiting family or in town for business, it an easy in-and-out, clean, well cared for location with friendly staff. If you're staying longer or have young children, it might not be what you're looking for.

Great location! Plethora of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Hotel was at standard of Hyatt Place. Friendly and welcoming staff from front desk to housekeeping. Very accommodating with anything we needed. Breakfast was very fresh and had plenty of items to choose from. Room was spacious and very clean. Beds comfy (but pillows were tiny?) and air held set temp for cool room.

Property Needs Updating The property needs significant updating. Cracked Sink needs to be replaced. Carpet bunched up in places. Needs grab bar in shower. Phone did not work. No way to get wake up call. Curtains don't block out all light. Sofa worn in places.
