We stayed one night at the Hyatt Residence Club Bonita Springs, Coconut Plantation about two weeks ago. The resort is beautiful, and the grounds are well-kept, but the timeshare sales pitch was a bit too pushy for our liking. Unfortunately, the bigger issue came the next morning — we woke up covered in bug bites, and I had a swollen-shut eye. I quietly reported it to the front desk at checkout and was brushed off. When I followed up with a call to management, I was told they would “look into it,” but I’ve heard nothing since. They have refused to provide any proof that the room was inspected or that it was not bed bugs. Out of an abundance of caution, we had to throw out our luggage — we weren’t willing to take the risk of bringing anything home. To make matters worse, they keep removing reviews that mention these concerns. So I’m leaving this here to warn other guests: be cautious, and if something happens, don’t expect transparency or accountability.

Great little resort in the middle of Bonita Springs, which is a great little town with lots of shopping both for budget and upscale. We really enjoyed the view of the golf course, the ponds, the service of everyone and just the overall condition of the property. Definitely meet and exceeds our expectations and the pricing is just right for what you get. We did the par three golf course with me and my 15-year-old and it was so convenient. We will be doing the championship 18 the next time we come here and we just want to thank the Hyatt staff for a job well done and we really appreciate you.

I stayed at the Hyatt Vacation Club at Coconut Cove during Memorial Day Weekend. I was in building #4 which was renovated (see pictures). I was told they are renovating the buildings in phases and Building 3 may be next. I stayed in a 2BR villa which was spacious with a huge screened in lanai. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured. There are multiple pools with varying operation hours. The lazy river closed at 6pm and the larger pool closes at dusk. The smaller pool upstairs closes at 10pm. Lazy river was really fun and wished it could stay open a little later but alas. The service at the resort could improve. For example, I arranged for housekeeping and the confirmation text said housekeeping would come between 1-5pm, which would have been perfect. However housekeeping came in the morning and we asked that they come back later but they never did. Front desk did offer a credit for this inconvenience. Another example is that on Friday of Memorial Day weekend they ran out of clean pool towels at the towel hut and the front desk. The next day only the towel hut had towels and not the front desk. Calling front desk for service is hit or miss. For example, the washing machine had an error code and wouldn't work. Front desk said they would send someone but no one came. A Google search revealed that the machine needed to go through a self clean cycle and started working once that was done. I called the front desk for extra dish washing detergent and it was not provided until a few hours later. Not sure if the hotel is understaffed because it is low season but I felt it could have been better. Further, the marketplace had very limited hours and was only open in the morning until noon. There was no way to grab items such as soda. There was a vending machine near the elevator but everything in the machine was out. I did take advantage of the shuttle to the ferry for access to the private island. It's a treat if you are able to get a reservation. The beach is beautiful and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas. I do wish they could run more boats (everyone was trying to leave all at once at the end of the day.) Lastly, I attended a sales presentation because I wanted to learn more about the Hyatt program and decide whether it was worth joining. In the end I felt I did not stay at Hyatt Vacation Club properties for it to be worth joining at this time. The sales team (Tom and Marianna) is extremely nice and knowledgeable and was not high pressure at all. I look forward to coming back.

Reception was one of the worst experiences we have ever had at a hotel. The pools and lazy river are great, but to start out our stay with how poorly we were treated at reception set things off on the wrong foot. If they expect us to sign up for their vacation club, you would think that we would be treated better.

This Vacation Club is not a patch on its neighbour Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Hotel near by. The room we were allocated was as a hotel reservation not a free night, the room was dated in every respect brown decor as from the eighties, all seemed worn and needed an upgrade. Had breakfast in the morning rather slow service and limited choice. The main positive with this resort was the pool area and lazy river this is very pleasant for families.

Beach is not walkable. First and foremost. You have to book a ride for trolly then boat. Last call 215 for 1hour. Complete hassle. Only one reservation at a time and they make you pay $25 per person if you don’t cancel 2 hours in advance. The units are very very dated, not very clean. This is the ugly sister to the Hyatt which is right down the road. Bird droppings on most chairs by the pool. They’re never cleaned. Not one time. While we were here. Our unit bedroom door was stuck and our kids were locked in. The sliding door doesn’t work well and there is a nasty black mold around the kitchen sink. Unpainted dry wall mud in master bathroom. Restaurants are not walkable at all. You HAVE TO HAVE A CAR. The one restaurant is $40 for 1 drink, chicken tenders and fries. Worst money I ever spent on vacation.
