I don’t think I ever gave a 1-star review, but this time I feel feel obliged. I booked the ‘bungalow la grotte’ with them trough Airbnb, which was promised to be an independent unit with a kitchen and strong wifi connection. Upon arrival it turned to have neither, but the host agreed to bring the kitchen stuff the next day. Then more issues occurred: the door lock could not be used, meaning I had to leave my valuables behind unlocked. The drainage in the shower was broken, so the room flooded after using it for a minute. The hosts then suggested I cancel the remaining booking, find another place, and assured me I would only be paying for the one night I stayed. This now turns out to be a lie: I’m charged over €100 even though the studio clearly wasn’t ready for guests to stay in. My attempts to call or message the hosts since I Ieft remain unanswered. I do believe the Surf House can be a great place to stay, but when problems like these occur, people show their true colors. And it this case they’ve shown a lack of honesty and responsibility, as happened before according to previous reviews. So be warned if you decide to stay here.
