If you’re on your way to Manitoulin Island, this hotel is a good base. It’s about a 30 minute drive to the island. There are a few chain restaurants nearby and a grocery store.
The hotel staff are courteous and helpful and had me checked-in in a matter of minutes. Checking out of the hotel you just leave your keys in the room and off you go.
There is ample parking in the front and rear of the hotel and is monitored with cctv cameras. You can also just look out of your hotel room window and see your car if you’re worried about theft.
I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfy and quiet night of rest.

A wonderful stay and my must stay when in the area ( I do miss Mario though) The hotel is attractive on the outside. It is getting a bit dated and the prices have gone up. However, the room was great. The bed and room clean and comfortable. The restaurant was busy but we were served quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great, cooked just right and lots of it. The hotel has lots of parking with a timmies a mile away. All good.

1 star hotel. Orig carpet is filthy (keep shoes on), Toilet seat broken. Mold in AC, no auto switch so either on or off, very noisy, beds haven't been upgraded in 40 years. Do not stay here. Keep driving until you get to a chain hotel in Sudbury!!

Great room and facilities. Check in with Ryan was quick and very friendly. The restaurant is great and the staff worked very hard. The room s well outfitted with a warm ambiance. Very easy to get to the motel as it s on the main route Hwy 6. We did not get the name of the servers in the restaurant but they were great and hard workers.

A reasonable priced nice place to stay in Espanola. We had a room on the back side clean and quiet. The Pinewood has the best restaurant you could imagine. The prime rib was so tender, accompanied with Yorkshire, baked potato and veggies. Truly an amazing dinner and not expensive.

Everything was great. Starting with checkin and the restaurant food was delicious. Francine was our server and she was great also. Well done everyone! Rooms were clean and comfortable and well priced. We had the swiss chicken and I would highly recommend it.

Were on a motorcycle trip and arrived early. Check-in went well. We were able to be on the ground floor. Internet was down at the time - not their fault. (Back online the next day.) Room is well laid-out. Love the pine paneling and wildlife artwork. Bed was comfy. Food at the restaurant was very good. We ate there both nights. Staff were very nice. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I've stayed here a couple of times now for work and as motels go, it's quite good. I recommend the deluxe rooms ON THE SECOND FLOOR. They are quieter, and apparently more recently renovated, compared to the ones on the ground floor. Rooms on the side of the building (as you might expect) are quieter than those facing the road. Also, the deluxe rooms facing the road on the ground floor may once have been smoking rooms in the past, because they didn't quite smell right. Great staff and a decent restaurant.

When booking I added a note requesting that scented cleaners and room deodorizer not be used -- that stuff gives me a migraine, and I would end up sleeping in the car, which defeats the purpose of renting a room. Front desk staff were aware of the issue, but housekeeping didn't take it seriously, so I walked into a room flooded in room deodorizer. The friendly and professional woman at the front desk understood the problem, and was able to find me another room that didn't smell. She saved the day. The motel is older, but it is clean and comfortable, and the room was spacious. This is a good place for a stopover, or for a longer stay, but if you have a problem with scent, call the the day before you arrive to remind them.
