If you’re on your way to Manitoulin Island, this hotel is a good base. It’s about a 30 minute drive to the island. There are a few chain restaurants nearby and a grocery store.
The hotel staff are courteous and helpful and had me checked-in in a matter of minutes. Checking out of the hotel you just leave your keys in the room and off you go.
There is ample parking in the front and rear of the hotel and is monitored with cctv cameras. You can also just look out of your hotel room window and see your car if you’re worried about theft.
I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfy and quiet night of rest.

I had a renovated room on the second floor. The room was tastefully done with modern neutral furnishings and nice fluffy towels in the bathroom. It wasn’t lavish but appropriate for the price point. The fare in the dining room was better than I expected for this type of property. The ground floor rooms at the rear are currently under renovation and I don’t know the status of the ground floor rooms at the front so anyone with mobility issues should check directly with property before booking to avoid disappointment.

I've never had to write a review before but yikes! This place has gone WAY down hill. Our first room had gum stuck on the bathroom floor, a towel left from a previous guest, white crusty stuff (super yuck) on the blanket, and blood spots on the bed spread. We moved to another room which didn't have a blanket on one bed, more blood spots on the bedspread, mold in the shower, doors which hardley close all the way, used cutlery/ napkins in the drawers, and food under the beds. So, don't stay here. I won't again. And I had been staying here on my way to camp every summer for the last 10 years, at least.

I hesitated to write this review because I don't like saying negative things. But be warned. This isn't the place it was 25 years ago. It's been badly let go. Plus it's horrendously overpriced. So many things were missing or broken. I checked out after one night of a planned one-week stay.
