Au Jeu de Paume

Beautiful B&B with character in the centre (albeit quiet street) of Épernay enabling close access to all the shops, restaurants, and Avenue de Champagne. Parking is off the street in a locked courtyard, which was an attraction for us. We were each offered a glass of local champagne on arrival, which were enjoyed in the outside garden courtyard. Our room was small but beautifully furnished with much artwork on the walls. Each room is uniquely decorated - ours being themed on Papillons (butterflies). The choice and quality of the breakfast was first class. The husband and wife owners were friendly and helpful. Yes, it is expensive for a B&B, but it is Epernay - the centre of Champagne production.

Delightful and quirky B&B slap bang in the middle of Epernay. The hosts made us feel very welcome with a glass of champagne in the small courtyard garden. Our room, Papillon, possibly the smallest in the house, was very well equipped and comfortable, not least with quiet and efficient air conditioning which was very welcome during a minor heatwave. Plenty of choice for breakfast, and a myriad of restaurants within a few yards to choose for dinner. Parking available. Would be very happy to revisit.

Great place to stay in the center of Epernay. Friendly hosts. Car parking on site. Individual style bedrooms, which are very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very pleasant. Within walking distance of the local champagne houses. Very pretty city.

Absolutely stunning quaint hotel right in the heart of Epernay. The property is beautiful and the hosts were amazing. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival, which we enjoyed in the beautiful garden. Immaculately clean and full of character and French charm. Breakfast was lovely every morning, will definitely go back when we return.

After the 4-hour drive from Eguisheim to Epernay, we were relieved to stay at this wonderfully charming B&B in the ideal location -- walking distance to shops, restos, and Avenue de Champagne. Anne-Marie and Bruno are the proprietors of this piece of heaven. There is no elevator, but Bruno is brawny and can assist. There are only 5 rooms -- we were in the premium Verte room at 250E per night with breakfast. It is very large, approximately 500 sq ft with separate toilette and bathroom which has both a tub and shower. On the second floor is a communal room with coffee maker, fresh fruit, and a minifridge of drinks. It is very comfortable and private. After checking in, we gathered in the breakfast room for a taste of Blanc de Blancs champagne and cookies. We knew this place was special and intimate. The B&B is tastefully furnished, much of it vintage or antique. It is housed in a former chateau. There is no room cleaning until the third rented day. Breakfast was delightful and made us feel special. There are a plethora of bakery items of top quality and variety, cheese plate, and charcuterie. The fruit drinks and coffee were fresh and flavorful. No complaints!
