Stayed for 4 nights in February 2024 as part of a work trip - I was working just up the road, so it suited me to walk to and from my accommodation. Blue Monkey guesthouse is on a quiet residential street that feels very safe, and it's easy to find by following the signs. Once through the front gate, you're into a tranquil oasis of plants and flowers, and there are various places to sit, inside and out, that make the most of the location overlooking Lake Victoria. Breakfast was a real highlight - three delicious options to choose from, presented on signature Blue Monkey crockery, a nice touch. I wasn't quite sure about the concept of a guesthouse where you're mixing at fairly close quarters with other guests, but it's easy enough to be either social or solitary per your preference, and the rooms are in two separate areas of the house, so it's well laid out to allow for privacy. Albrecht and Andrea gave me a much more cost effective option than the one I'd found to visit Mabamba Swamp, so that was also a handy bonus. Wifi is available throughout the property - it was a bit weak for video calls in my bedroom, but fine in the main areas and it was consistently available throughout my stay. I walked down towards Victoria Mall and the Botanic Gardens a couple of times - about 45 minutes each way. An easy route, though no pavement, so watch out for the motorcycles! I'll definitely return here when I come back to Entebbe.
