I love this hotel and have stayed here before and dined here many times and I was very fortunate to have received a few vouchers for this hotel and I used them up last week for a one night stay, b &b and dinner with my husband on Thursday night last. This is an amazing hotel, ideally located in the town of Ennis - just a few minutes walk from the train and bus station and the centre of town, with a resident cat. From the minute we arrived to leaving, our experience was top class. Our room was beautiful and spacious, breakfast was really lovely, with great choices. We had dinner in the Town Hall restaurant and it was really beautiful food. The waitress who severed us was Eva/Eve, I'm sorry for not remembering her name, but she was a pleasure to deal with, a true professional at her job. Thank you for making our stay as wonderful as it was.

Albergo storico in pieno centro a Ennis. La struttura è molto piacevole e arredata con gusto. Stanza molto accogliente, ben arredata, pulita, spaziosa, con bagno interno. La nostra stanza si affacciava al cortile interno ed è stata molto silenziosa. Letto confortevole. Ottima la colazione (per noi compresa nel prezzo), in parte a buffet e in parte alla carta (compresa nel prezzo) con diversi piatti caldi preparati sul momento (p.es. full irish breakfast oppure uova strapazzate con un ottimo salmone affumicato). L' hotel è dotato di ampio parcheggio gratuito. Accoglienza forse un po' freddina, ma il checkin è stato molto efficiente e veloce ed il checkout velocissimo. Degno di nota il pub storico ospitato nella struttura, dove abbiamo cenato molto bene (non accettano prenotazioni).

We chose the Old Ground Hotel as our wedding venue and couldn't be happier that we did! Phil, Abdul and all of the staff at the Old Ground were so helpful and the service was exceptional. Our guests all commented on how great the service was. They went out of their way to accommodate our older guests with poorer mobility and made us feel that we could ask for anything. The food was fantastic and the dinner tasting was a standout experience for us. We definitely recommend the chocolate brownie! The rooms were all comfortable and clean. We couldn't fault anything.

We, a family of 4 adults and 2 children under the age of 2, arrived at the hotel tired and hungry. It was 15 minutes before the hotel restaurant would close. The staff welcomed us as if they had been waiting for only us to arrive. They quickly checked us in, arranged for a porter to take our bags to our rooms and guided us into the restaurant where we were quickly seated. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Our rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had 2 cots for the children. At breakfast you could choose continental or specific items from the menu. The main street where there are pubs and shops is right next to the hotel. Great experience.

The hotel is right in the town centre but has plenty of parking The staff are very friendly and the rooms large with comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent- with an extra room opened to a avoid the queues from visiting coach parties - great if you are a hurry but want a good breakfast. Don't miss the (allegedly stray!) cat that can be found in the main porch demanding strokes from anyone passing.

Really good staff on reception and doing breakfasts. The room was grand and the bed very comfortable. The pillows are the best I've ever slept on when away.....proper down and feather ones with good covers. Pillows nearly always let places down, but not here!

lovely hotel in ennis. we got one of the larger rooms and it felt like a cottage. despite the age of the building the rooms were wonderfully updated. the poet's bar is a lively place where locals and visitors drink side by side. the town hall bistro had very good good. the 2 night romantic getaway package was a very good deal. PS it looked like the only place to stay in Ennis

The Old Ground Hotel was pretty much what I expected when I think of a country hotel. While we only stayed one night, it was very comfortable. The wait staff was grand. I just wish they’d say “you’re welcome”, rather than “no trouble”. But I see that across the USA too. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was very good. I appreciated the strong coffee.
