This has to be one of the best located hotels in the world. English Harbour is jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and the hotel is in the heart of it. We stayed in the Gunpowder Suites across the other side of the inlet, and easily accessible by a 30 second water taxi ride, or an 8 minute walk (at night, the hotel will send a car to shuttle you from one side to the other. The trip by car is 3 minutes or so). The area felt extremely safe to us, and we never had any concerns about walking around, either at night or during the day. Our rooms were gorgeous. Not super-luxurious, but very pleasant, clean, and well appointed. There is a good-sized fridge for your use, and a small supermarket is 5 mins walk away so you can stock up on water, drinks and snacks. There’s no TV or phone. Hooray! (WiFi is free and works well). Breakfast at the hotel is great at the Pillars restaurant, and the Boom restaurant on the Gunpowder side does great tasty poolside lunches. English Harbour has a lot of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, and we ate some of the best food we’ve had in the Caribbean. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the whole hotel has a cosy welcoming feel, lacking the sort of fake enthusiasm you often get from corporate chain hotels. Our week here was one of the best we’ve ever had, and we will doubtless be returning.

A stunning setting with a special menu. A mixture of traditional Caribbean food with a touch of western and asian thrown in the mix. Take a look at the menu. They have a neat little partner bar across the water where during the day you can take a boat over and use the pool at the gunpowder suites, where the bar opens at 12 and serves a different menu. Both bars have a great choice of cocktails and even the house wine is a decent tiple.

This was our 3rd visit to Antigua and the 1st staying at the Admiral’s Inn. What a special hotel it was. We stayed in one of the Gunpowder Suites which was perfect, enjoying a drink on the terrace & watching the pelicans diving for fish. The pool was close by as was the lunch at the Boom bar. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance from this side of the hotel & the ferry across to the main hotel (1.1/2 mins!) for breakfast & dinner. From the main hotel walk around the fascinating Nelson’s Dockyard or take the local bus from here to St John’s, the capital. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, it was a pleasure to stay here. A hotel which we would highly recommend.

We spent an entire week at Admiral and truly made an excellent choice. The unforgettable local cuisine, friendly atmosphere, and perfect service made it a wonderful place to relax and a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The Admiral reception will take care of everything you need—100% guaranteed.

Despite providing the appropriate information for our party on Booking, the hotel manager was adamant that we were incorrect about how we made our booking and insisted we would have to pay additional fees and that only half our party could have the included breakfast. We were forced to pay nearly double the price from what we originally booked just to resolve this issue so we could salvage our vacation day. The original room they tried to provide that was supposed to have a view was surrounded by thick bushes. We had to pick a different room that resulted in having to utilize a pull out bed instead of having two real beds. The air conditioner did not work leaving the room a balmy and humid 83 degrees which was confirmed by the night attendant who himself stated the room was “very warm.” This room also had dried blood on the bed sheets and the refrigerator contained a juice box from what must have been the prior occupants leading us to believe that the cleanliness standard is not very high. When you are paying a premium price for a hotel room, you should not be sweating and sleeping in dirty bedsheets. Hopefully the hotel will provide some accommodations for the rudeness and disregard we have been shown thus far. I have traveled extensively and can confidently say this is one of the worst customer experiences we have ever had as well as one of the poorest values in terms of accommodations. We ultimately left the hotel early and were left with the impression this is the standard operating procedure to squeeze as much out of customers for as poor an experience as possible.

Wow what a little gem. This lovely small hotel is set within the beautiful historic dockyard - none other than Nelson’s Dockyard! The hotel and grounds are well manicured and unique. Staff are very friendly and helpful-special shout out to Rodney the bar man and the boatman who will ferry you to either the Boom (with its infinity pool and bar or galleon beach with its chilled vibes and sea life). The food was delicious and fresh but you are only a short walk into Falmouth if you want to mix it up. GO you won’t regret it!

Well we just went to look around the dockyard but decided to go and have a drink in the Admirals inn…… Sorry to say but we won’t be going back , living in Antigua for serval years you roughly know the pours of the liquor, this was less than a normal UK shot size so you couldn’t taste the liquor , but the best one was he had cleaned the lines that morning and as you do you pull off a couple of pints before adding the cleaning fluid , well he said that he had pulled the beer off popped it into a unsealed container covered with cling film and put it into the fridge , god knows how long it had been in there but he went and poured it into a glass to serve to us , it was so flat , I said you shouldn’t serve it as it’s the end of the cask and that’s normally taken to the kitchen for cooking , I was shocked he was going to actually serve that beer , so to say it wasn’t the best experience would be true , learnt a lesson and won’t be drinking or taking our guests there again
