Had a really lovely lunch of crab sandwiches and fat chips followed by amazing desserts - I had the cherry and pistachio tiramisu which came with coffee ice cream and hubby had Eton mess (not usually on the weekday menu but they made it specially for him). Friendly, helpful, polite, effecient staff with a great sense of humour and our visit was only marred by the antics of Terence L, who created quite a stir and who, it seemed to us, was clearly out for a free lunch (in our opinion his review is, in his words, "shocking" and not a true representation of events). We enjoyed The Dunstanburgh Castle Inn so much we went back today. Hubby had carrot and ginger soup followed by scampi and chips. I had the monkfish and shrimp ravioli. Possibly the best monkfish dish I've ever had. We said if we lived close by we'd be in here every week!

When you read a previous bad review and others are very good you realise it isn’t to be believed! We have just eaten a delicious meal here. The venison cobbler was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Washed down with a couple of pints of White Rat beer it was a perfect way to enjoy lunch on a snowy day. Thank you to the friendly staff

We t in for drink and sandwich. Ordered battered haddock stottie and drinks. Stottie filled with slice of lettuce and terrible dressing plus batter with hardly any fish. Told and showed bar girl the lack of fish. Pulled plate from under me and said "I'll tell them" Did not offer replacement. Brought bill which had the Stottie on it at just under £15 (for a sandwich with a few crisps!!). Called her back to question why a rejected sandwich was charged. She then took it off the bill. Talking to my wife about the poor quality.....a private conversation when another bar member shouted out "you've made your point", which was rude and insolent to speak to a customer whom she had had no interaction prior to he rudeness. A pretentious place to be avoided.

I must admit to being a little unsure upon entry but WOW what a wonderful friendly family run hotel with excellent food and great location. The beach here is stunning! Strongly recommended. Thankyou for your warm friendly welcome and a most enjoyable stay.

We were just looking for some takeaway food on a quiet Sunday afternoon and came across this lovely looking village pub. Ordered some take away fish n chips as we had the dogs in the car are were not disappointed fish was nice and fresh served with mushy peas, plenty of choice of condiments to choose from and cutlery and napkins available. Staff friendly would certainly visit again when in Northumberland.

Tonight booked a table for dinner for two. Slightly earlier than normal as we were warned it was quiz night and busy. Lovely food , a real treat . Unfortunately whole experience spoiled when after attempting to clear my second course before I had finished no one appeared to clear the table or take a desert order. We waited patiently for 25 minutes and as the quiz was staring decided to abandon the thought of desert. Went to the bar to pay and complimented the waitress on the food but also that we felt we should have had the opportunity to order a desert. This was overheard by a waiter who mouthed "sorry" . I then heard him tell another gentleman of the problem. This gentleman whom I took to be the manager made absolutely no attempt to engage with me or my wife. Very disappointing. As I said the quality and choice of food was excellent but there are other nearby establishments of similar standard . I would not bother to patronise this establishment again . Well perhaps if it was public knowledge that the management had undergone remedial public service training!!
