The Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel

Starters ok Chicken sauce tasteless in Thai dish. Prawn chicken and cashew dish had no cashews , should’ve complained but staff were more interested in going home than talking to us about our experience!

Didi not stay at the Hotel BUT went for a evening dinner twice, excellent. Had the "Moules" the first time which were excellent so paid another visit and had them again, they were just as good!!! My dear wife had the fish and chips on the first visit and the Lamb on the second, both very good. Service was excellent and changes to the dishes were catered for, very personal by very friendly and personable staff, thank you.

The food and bear garden are lovely , staff so nice , and Hawkstone on draft , Husband said best Mussels he had eaten in a long time , lovely spot for a relaxed lunch

Lovely hotel Lovely stay , very comfortable hotel. Excellent Customer service. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and very obliging. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and couldn’t fault our meals at all. Very good quality food. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We ate here twice during our holiday nearby. Firstly, the Sunday lunch was excellent - good quality food cooked well and served by a lovely team of staff who were friendly and attentive. Food and drink prices were reasonable. Our second visit was an impromptu return after a full day’s sightseeing and was equally impressive. The Cumberland sausage main course was very good, served piping hot and in generous portions. The online booking system worked well on the busy Sunday. We really enjoyed our visits here and would highly recommend.

As a solo traveller I was delighted to find this hotel offered a single room at an attractive price. I found the room comfortable, with space for an armchair in addition to a small desk. The ensuite walk-in shower gave good flow of hot water. My room faced the road but it was so quiet in the countryside this wasn't an issue especially with the heavy curtains. For privacy I would have liked some net curtain or frosted film over the lower window. WiFi speed in the room and around the hotel was fine. The dinner was really good, I went for the fish and chips which were perfectly cooked and generous portion size. Cleary the bar and restaurant are popular with non-residents too. There's also a lounge which is more comfortable than than sitting in the small bar. Staff were all friendly and helpful and there was sufficient on-street parking around the hotel. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would certainly return.
