We had a lovely visit to Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel as part of our Mother’s Day weekend in Northumberland with my Mam. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and very supportive of my Mam who had mobility issues, we’ll definitely be visiting again.

We have just returned home after a 3 night stay. The hotel has a good location with walks to Beadnell to the North and Craster to the Sourh. Breakfast was adequate with plenty of choice but limited fruit options and no pastries. We ate in the restaurant all 3 nights and the food was excellent —Sunday Roasts, Haddock and Chips and Chinese/Thai. Katie was very efficient and ensured that guests were well looked after. Unfortunately our room was not up to scratch despite paying extra for a room with village view. The beds, bedding and pillows were good quality but the rest of the room was quite shabby and in need of a good clean. We did mention it on checkout and, if addressed, we would have no hesitation to stay here again. We genuinely want businesses to do well and hope that our comments will be taken on board.

The hotel was conveniently located for us as we were walking a section of the coast path. We opted for a larger room, which was indeed large, but was rather 'tired' . It was billed as a 'large village view room' but in fact its two windows both overlooked a road junction. Staff were pleasant and helpful and breakfast was adequate, but the evening meals were poor. We did not feel that the hotel offered value for money, perhaps partly due to the fact that there is no competition. We would not return.

Day out to Beadnell found this gem of a place on our way back in a place called Embleton, my husband, me and our dog Flynn. The owners daughter not sure if it's Ellie is an asset to the place, lovely girl, staff very welcoming, lovely food, hubby said great beer, and my latte was lovely, wish they had done 1 night stays we didn't want to leave. Highly recommended

Lovely friendly place. I had the ham sandwich with salad and crisps. I was disappointed with it as there was only a couple of leaves for salad- I feel £11 was overpriced for a sandwich

Went for a last minute lunch with my parents and it could not be faulted. My parents had crab sandwiches with a side of onion rings and fries, I (the picky one) had the burger. The 2 women that served us were brilliant. They were clearly busy getting things done behind the scenes but they were still attentive, funny and welcoming - so much so I joked and asked if they had any jobs as it is rare to come across staff with a sense of humour and strong work ethic in the hospitality industry. My parents said the crab sandwiches were the best they’ve had in the area - full of fresh crab meat - “crammed” as they said. The homemade slaw seemed to have a hint of curry to it which my mum said made it delicious. I had the burger which was cooked to perfection along with the chunky chips. The portions were massive and worth every penny paid. I know I don’t need to eat for a couple of days! Looking forward to return for an evening meal and Sunday lunch!

If Carlsberg did Sunday lunches……… Quite frankly, the staff the hotel made the occasion of our family get together fabulous. I can’t praise the food and the service any higher, thank you very much. Titled

Starters ok Chicken sauce tasteless in Thai dish. Prawn chicken and cashew dish had no cashews , should’ve complained but staff were more interested in going home than talking to us about our experience!
